I don't know about the Boynton one but I live in Delray Beach and I take my kids to the Boca one. The kids love the daycare and its free if you have a family membership. They have a good playground that you can use after 6pm. I love getting some "me" time and the kids love playing with others. Its the nicest YMCA that I have ever seen, i haven't been to the Boynton one so if its not that great take anoother few minutes and go to the Boca one
good luck
let me know if you end up going there. I could always use a work out buddy

I love the Boynton Y. The only drawback is parking. During busy times (especially Saturdays and evenings) the parking is a bit crazy. They have daycare if you want to work out and offer plenty of classes for the kids. I enrolled my son in the swim class and was very happy. Nice clean facility.

I believe that's where my girlfriend and her family go she has 4 children and they love it. They work out there I am not sure of the activities though. My husband and I belong to LA Fitness to work out and my 2yr old has been going to the kids club there since he was 2-3 months old.

We took our 2 year old little girl to the YMCA for swim lessons this past summer. We had a great experience there with her. The pool was very child friendly. The lessons were group lessons and really taught our daughter to have a high respect for water/pools. We will be going back in the winter for lessons. We've always looked in the child care room when passing and it looks like they are always having fun, but we don't have personal experience with it. There seem to be some fun mommy and me programs, but we haven't tried those out yet either. (BTW, all of their programs - you can join without being a member, the fee is just a bit higher.) We do know, that the summer camps are very well run and the kids have a blast as do the counsolers. Although camp is more than a few years away! Good luck!

Hi, A.,

My family and I have been Boynton Y members since before it opened. We have been pretty happy there - decent, clean facilities, good classes, good value. Since you stay home, you'll be able to take advantage of their "Mommy & Me"-type classes. I took them with my son, and we both enjoyed them. The best part for me was that their child care takes infants as early as 6 weeks, so when I was desperate for adult conversation, the Y was a real life-saver!

Daytime hours will also help you avoid the crowds (like Soccer Game Saturdays). This strategy will become more important once "Season" starts up again and the snowbirds flock after hurricanes are history.

If and when you join the Boynton Y, you have a reciprocal membership at the Boca location, so you can check them both out. (Technically, it's YMCA of South Palm Beach County, which includes both facilities.)While I agree with the other mommy that the new Boca Y facility is nice as well, it's not just "a few minutes" away... I live in western LW/Boynton, too, and the Boca Y is off of Palmetto Park and Jog, south of Glades. You'd be fine during the day taking the turnpike, But I would avoid Glades at rush hour...

Hope this helps!
