Computer Monitor Donation?

Does anyone know of anyone or any organization that wants to accept a free Sony (older) computer monitor that is in perfect condition? I could just recycle it, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it -- it's just old (and bulky). Back in the day, I spent about $400 for it! I have a computer to give away too... but the original power supply went bad and the power supply that I hooked up doesn't fit in the actual unit - so it's not a great thing even though it works unless the person is computer savvy. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Donation was made today to the People's Resource Center in Wheaton -- thanks to all for the great ideas!!! They can put that monitor to good use!!

D., I just heard about a company in Carol Stream that does the recycling of these. It was at the library, so if you decide to recycle, call the library and ask about it.

If you want to donate it, you could call The People's Resource Center in Wheaton. They have computer training classes there to help people get jobs and they might want it. That facility can take clothes and books as well. They use the books for kids who visit with their parents and to help the people in the English as a second language class. They also take food and last time we volunteered there, they were really running low.

Depending on how old the computer is, The People's Resource Center might take it off your hands, fix it up and then give it away to someone who needs it.

My suggestion would be to join FreeCycle and offer it up on there.

Try www.freecycle.org. You can post that you have a free monitor, someone who wants it can come by and pick it up!

Check out SCARCE - it's the DuPage County Recycling Education Group - they know where to donate things, how to recycyle things - anything you can imagine. http://www.bookrescue.org/recycle/default.asp?page=Rbasics
