We just got a new couch and have not got the paperwork back on how to clean it.
My baby drooled in an area of the couch, he also has a runny nose so that area might have snot as well with the drool. Its a light color microsuede. We had the couch sprayed with proctectant, so does that change anything I need to do to clean it?
Wasnt sure if I just took a rag and wiped it or if there was something special to do?
thanks

What can I do next?

We have a treated, microfiber couch as well. I found that for little stuff like drool and snot that a diaper wipe worked just fine. I don't know what I did without wipes before I had a child. I use them for everything now. You won't do anything to the couch or the treatment stuff on it.

Seriously. I spot clean everything with baby wipes!! I am not kidding, try it. It get stains out of everything! My couch is treated as well. It is a type of microfiber. I spill coffee and formula dribbles on it all the time and I just use a baby wipe and it looks perfect. Also when my husband was painting and got a little paint on the carpet, a baby wipe took it out- No problem!! I cannot say enough good things about them. Its my little secret that I like to tell everyone! It will even get stains out of your clothes! I have them in every room in the house, my purse, and the diaper bag of course! ;)

Our couch is the same--light colored microsuede that we also had treated with the protectant when we bought it. They said that you can use just a soapy wet washcloth and try to remove stains yourself first. I have never had to call the company to come to my house to clean it because this works every time. I have used several soaps also, and every time the stain comes out (I was very nervous when my only option was the orange dish soap, but it gave me no trouble at all!). I have 4 kids and a messy husband, so my couch has seen it all...chocolate, markers, pen marks, baby drool, leaky diapers, spaghetti sauce, greasy fingerprints, mud, you name it. There is NOTHING that hasn't come out just wiping it with a warm soapy cloth. Sometimes I am wiping at the same spot for a few minutes, but it always works. Very well worth the investment of having it treated! I wouldn't recommend scrubbing at any given spot though. I've not tried it myself, but I'd be afraid that it would wear the fabric down and look horrible.

Hi E.,
I'm a grandmother with 8 drooling grandbabies and a light green microsuede couch. Turns out that microsuede is one tough fabric. For drool, snot, and etc., I take a clean cloth, wet it with room temperature water, and start lightly wiping. The color of the fabric will change because it's wet. When it dries just run your hand over it to raise the nap and it's perfect. I also have a dark green microsuede couch and a dark purple microsuede chair and this technique works fine on them as well. Don't use a cloth that leaves any lint. Try this technique on a bit of the back of the couch. Good luck!

We just got a microfiber sofa and my son spilled a pop on it and tried to wipe it up and I didn't notice it until the next day and I used a slightly wet wash cloth and it took it right out, no evidence of a stain at all. I heard you can do just about anything to them and they keep clean. Hopefully this will work for you too.

I know others have said this, but when we had ours professionally cleaned, the cleaner said a baby wipe would take out just about anything, and it has (yogurt, milk, drool, popsicle...we haven't found a stain yet that the baby wipe won't remove).

I hope this helps. I also have a light microsuede couch that has been treated. It has had chocolate, ink, milk, etc.....on it. I simply use a clean WHITE (must be white) wash cloth and put just water on it. sometimes I have to scrub a bit but it always has come off. You wouldn't know I have a two year old. I swear by this, but I hope it helps your situation. just plain water, elbow grease and white wash cloth saves me everytime. good luck
