Hi Moms,
I would like some ideas on what to get my son for Christmas. I wanted to get him a play kitchen but the one I want is on back order until after Jan....so now I need a new game plan.
Any good ideas?

we got our 2 1/2 year old son this kitchen from step 2 this year. it's not "girly" like most seem to be. also, costco has a cool fire house/police station play set. it's like a doll house for boys that we're also thinking about. by the way, the kitchen only took a week to ship, no tax, and free shipping.

How about a little red tricycle?

a sandbox, a slide, a ball pit.

Shop around for the kitchen.... maybe you can find somewhere else.

Plasma Car... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&...

It's been the neighborhood favorite toy (indoor and outdoor) for over 5 years now (from when my son was 2). Nearly no one rides it JUST by turning the butterfly handlebars though, it's usually ridden by "scooching". We had to get helmets by the time DS was 3. It just needed it's first repair this year... ridden every day by DS, and occasionally by me, dad, uncles, aunts, etc. It's supermaneuverable. If you have tile, I strongly reccomend getting the rollerblade wheels swapped onto it, so that it's quieter in the house.

:) LOVE this toy! Also, there have only been 2 spills (one of them my son, and he was trying to knock it over, and one by a 250lb adult who was trying to do a "drift" type stop) in our neighborhood in the past 5 years. The thing is probably the single safest ride it toy we own.

I bought the Handy Manny work bench for my son. He loves it and he gets to play with the kitchen at school when he started pre-school and Kindergarten. He loved Monstwr trucks since he was crawling. ;) good luck

I sell Discovery Toys. I can't tell from Starr's post if she sells them, or just knows all about them. If she doesn't sell them, please contact me. I have a couple specific ones in mind that my 2.5 year old son LOVES and they will definitely have the wow factor for Christmas morning.

I am going to be selling them at a boutique tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 5) from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Here is the location:
Clubhouse at Sierra Vista
2955 Champion Way
Tustin, CA 92782

I hope you can stop by!

Why not an annual membership for a children's museum, zoo or regional park so you can enjoy the gift all year and it doesn't clutter your house. We had San Diego Zoo/Animal Park, Disneyland and Legoland during various stages of my daughter's early childhood. They are the gifts that keep on giving and don't get lost in a pile of toys.

We got our son the kitchen made by Melissa and Doug. You can get it through Amazon and if you have an Amazon Prime account or know somebody who does it will ship for free. son is (now 31 mos old) but he got the kitchen for his 2nd Birthday. Costco has play food right now too for 20.00 and it is a set worth over 50.00 NICE play food..

We also got him a Plasma car-what a HOOT that is and the best ride on ever. My husband and I can even ride it with him and he loves it.

He is into Legos
Thomas the tank engine is big too--my husband built him a train table.

How about a toy shopping cart, toy food, and play cash register? Those would go great with the kitchen once it does come in.

Have you checked CostCo? They have a really cute play kitchen this year that isn't all pink and girly. They had a ton of them last time I was in the store.

My two-year-old loves Legos. If you think the pieces are too small, you can try the Duplo sets. They are very cute, and they'll last forever.
