I'm having a bowling birthday party for my 5 year old. Well as you know, bolwing partied can wuickly get out of hand. Any suggestions on how I can keep things in order. I was thinking of assigning each kid with a color ribbon or name tag and they would ab assigned to a particular lane but I'm not sure if that would work. Well any suggestions would be great

So What Happened?

Hello everyone! First of all thank you for taking time out to respond to my question. Your suggestions really really helped. Everything went well at the party. I'm glad I told the bowling alley I had 20 kids coming because they gave me 4 lanes. I was able to put the yuounger kids on 2 lanes and the older kids on the other two lanes. So that really helped out. Luckliy the bowlong alley had electronic score keeping, so once we put the kids name in, the computer did the rest. It really helped for the older kids, but the younger kids could careless.
Overall I was pleased with the party.
The only thing that hurts my feeling is when people RSVP and don't show up. I know my kids don't see it but me as the mom knows what happen. And I know moms have a lot to do and maybe that's why they didn't show up but I try to make it a point to support as many children as possible if if fits my schedule. But I can't get upset I just have to understand if the kids are happy then that's all that matters.
Anyway thanks again for your help!

I actually just went to a very successful 5yr old bowling birthday party. It went great. Lots of younger siblings too. I think to set the expectation to - nobody stay in any specific lanes (maybe have a cone on each side, to frame the reserved lanes), and no scores - is a good idea. We got there late, but the grandparents who were keeping score quit 10mins into it. The kids had fun just rolling the ball down the lanes, and watching anything get knocked over. have fun!
The structure was mostly: Playtime, Pizza Time, Cake Time.

Hi C.,

I've taken my five-year old granddaughter bowling recently with family and some of her little friends. It's interesting, to say the least. LOL! Color-coded ribbons, or something of that nature sounds cool. Also, inquire within...the bowling alleys here will gladly set up the bumper guards...awesome...no more gutter balls for the babies. Grandma here likes them too! LOL! They will have a great time. Let me know the results! ~ Simply D.

that is a great idea. i took my grand children to the pizza place in Roanoke and they have a girl at the door stamping your hand, that stamps your childrens hands and if they don't match when you go to leave they can not leave with that person. that would also give your a count of children and names to where to send a parent that shows up. if someone moves around you can send them back. organize is the answer to all things. Plus safety in this C..

I had my son's 5th birthday party at a bowling alley, and it went really well. We had the two lanes on the end, and there was an electronic scoreboard. The kids were great at waiting their turns, and we really didn't have any issues. About a third of the parents stayed, so I made sure there was enough pizza for them too. My daughter is now asking for her 5th birthday party to be there too.
