Hello everyone.

I am looking to get together with other mothers with young babies. I find that many playgroups on meetup are mostly for pre-school kids. I do have a pre-schooler, but he goes to pre-school most days. I am home with my 4 month old baby boy. I would love to meet for coffee and chat, or go to the park, as the weather is getting nice.

Have you tried www.meetup.com There are usually several groups there for different ages. You could also try attending a class at Little Gym or Gymboree, something like that to meet people with similar age kids.

Hey J.! I would like to invite you to check out MOMS Club, http://momsclub.org/, as a great way to meet other stay at home moms. I am a current member and there are lots of activities planned each month, just like what you were mentioning. Your chapter is decided by your location so that members live close to each other and activities are planned in your community. Good luck!

I have a 4 month old son as well! But my toddler is only 2 - almost 3 - and will only be in preschool 2x a week starting in April.

I'm actually looking for someone to hang out with for the parks and stuff so that one of us can watch the kids on the playground while the other watches over the infants who can't do much else but lay there and hang out. It would be more "playdate" centered than Mom-bonding, if you know what I mean.

If we could swing it with our kids' school schedules, I'd also be open to meeting and hanging out with our littlest ones when the older ones are in school.

But I totally get what you're saying about being a working mom at heart; I was supposed to be the working mom and my hubby the stay at home dad. I do NOT feel like those moms who say their entire life was all about having kids... Let me know if you want to talk more!

You should check out the Allen Early Childhood PTA. It is an organization designed for families with children 0-5 years old. We have play groups, field trips, community service projects, parties and more. Even stuff for the parents like Adult Socials, Babysitting Coop and Book Club. You don't have to live in Allen to participate. We do things all over Collin County!

Check out the website www.aecpta.com

Good Luck finding a group that meets your needs!!

I would love to meet for coffee. I have a 11 month old baby girl. She is easy going, and loves other babies. I have the same problem finding other moms with small babies to meet.

Here's a link to our MOPS (Mother's of Preschools)group: http://www.hopefulheartmops.org/. We do playdates for different age groups as well as for the entire group. We also do Mom's nights out. We meet the 1st & 3rd Fridays. Our church www.fbcmckinney.org also has a Wednesday night group that meets 3 times a month. There are two other chruchs: Trinity Presbyterian & Crosspoint church that also have MOPS groups that do similiar activities.

Please feel free to email me directly if you want more info on my group ____@____.com

Also I am a work from home mom so I can understand where you are at. There are others in our group that work either from home or part time. We'd love to have you join us.

Good luck!

I'm an older mom (40) with a 13-week-old. My stepdaughter, who lives with us, is 9 and in third grade. My other daughter (I mean the other one I gave birth to) is 20, and is a sophomore in college. It's been a LONG time since I did the "baby thing" and I'm loving it, but I would really like to have another mom of a baby to chat with, hang out with sometimes, meet for coffee, etc. I tried the mom's groups, but I am overwhelmed by them and would rather just meet with one or two other moms. I live in McKinney and work from home, and my schedule is pretty flexible. Please contact me if you'd like to meet! I was thinking of posting a request just like yours, so I think we are probably looking for the same thing - a friend who is also the mom of a baby!

Hi! I have a four month old son as well and my daughter is almost 3. She goes to MDO 2 days a week. I also feel like I identify more with working moms since I worked before I had my little ones. Would love to meet sometime!

Have you tried www.momsclub.org or www.mops.org? The mom's clubs have chapters based on your location and separate play groups by birthdates which sounds like what your looking for. Good luck!
