Depends on which products you are wanting to use. Any of the skincare, aromatherapy, haircare is safe for pregnancy. Take ingredient list to your doctor for any of the vitamins, fiber shake, protein shake, etc. My doctor said the shakes were great while pregnant & I definitely needed the fiber! No detox tea, detox cleanse or energy drink though.

As for the parabens (used as preservatives), Arbonne no longer uses parabens. The products you buy off the shelf are typically 35% perservatives because they have to have a 5-10 year shelf life to survive traditional retail and because they use animal by-products. With no preservatives - those "by-products" can go rancid. Note that when Arbonne was using parabens, it was less than 0.5%. Since Arbonne products are shipped directly to the consumer, fresh from the manufacturer - they do not sit on a shelf. The reason they were using any parabens at all is because you need to protect your products from bacteria, mold & contamination.

Keep in mind that things are always changing. What we once thought was safe - we are now finding is not good for us. And what we believe to be safe now may change in a few years. It is hard to keep up - that's why I would stick with a company that has been committed to pure, safe & beneficial for 29 years!

Hello L.,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Good for you for thinking about these things and asking these questions.

I just wanted you to be aware of another similar company you might want to check out. It's called Melaleuca, the Wellness Company. They have over 300 products for your health, home, and body - and everything is completely safe for you and your baby (now and after he/she is born). They have products ranging from excellent, non-toxic cleaners to laundry detergent to toothpaste and deodorant. All of their products are biodegradable and great for the environment as well.

Please contact me if you want more information or want help setting up a temporary shopping account so you can try a few things.

Take care and good luck,
A.

It is difficult to answer your question without knowing the specific product or products. Keep in mind our skin is our biggest organ, and what we apply to it can penetrate our skin and result in an exposure to our fetus. It is important to try to reduce exposure to development toxicants and hormone disruptors while pregnant.

Some of the Arbonne products are better than others. For example, some of the products have ethoxylated compounds (the laureth, ceteareth, etc.) and can be contaminated with 1,4 dioxane, a known carcinogen. As I understand it, Arbonne vacuum strips the 1,4 dioxane out of the baby line, but not the adult lines.

I haven't been through all the products, but Arbonne does use nanotechnology, which means that the products are deigned to penetrate the skin. Nanotechnology has beenq questioned because of the penetration.

If you have a specific product, then I can better answer your question. Or, you may want to check out the Skin Deep cosmetic safety database.

Hi L.,

That's great that you're taking the time to check into your products. We can't be too safe these days. I actually just spoke with someone this week that has inside info on Arbonne's ingredients and was told that they do use some ingredients that are toxic or can cause cancer, which is what they preach against. Have you heard of Shaklee? They have a great skin care line called Enfuselle that is completely toxin-free. They use zero harmful chemicals in it and it's vitamin and antioxidant based (patented). It really feels good on your skin and you WILL see results. Shaklee is the #1 natural nutrition company in the U.S. and has been around for over 50yrs. Their products are safe, natural, non-toxic, concentrated, and earth-friendly. Shaklee is always ahead of the game when it comes to the science of health and they will never sacrifice when it comes to quality and safety. I wouldn't choose any other company for our health. They have product lines in vitamins/supplements, cleaning/laudry, skincare/beauty & personal care, and weight control. You can check out Shaklee and their products at www.greennutrition.info and register to win $200 of free products at www.freegreenproducts.info. Let me know if you have any questions.

I loved using my Arbonne products. The moisture cream was great on my stretching belly so it didn't itch so much. Happy pregnancy!

All of Arbonne's products have no parabens or preservatives. They are definitely terrific to use while pregnant! The Skin Conditioning Oil is fabulous for preventing stretch marks. And I'm a huge fan of the NutriminC line, especially the night creme.

When your little one arrives, I would suggest the Arbonne Baby Care line. It's been the best for my little sensitive girl. I did run out of the hair & body wash two times and used products that I received as a gifts but she ended up breaking out with a rash the 1st time and an eczema-like reaction the 2nd! I've now learned my lesson!

As a disclosure, I'm a rep as well. (Really more of a user who shares it with my friends ;-) Let me know if you need a rep. I'd be glad to help!
