I have been thinking for a while that it would be nice to have a Group over here. I notice a lot of Moms with young kids around, especially in my neighborhood, but sometimes I think it might come off as weird to ask them to come over or something when I've only seen them once or twice. I would guess other people are in the same situation but like me don't know how to get a connection to other moms started. I would be willing to take some responsibility in getting it started/keeping it going, but there would be a slight delay possibly, as I am due with my second in early May! :)
Thanks for the advice. From what I've found so far, it sounds like there is only a group in Racine that I know of but I will dig a little deeper. Lisa, I will let you know if I find anything and/or let you know if I get something started! My Dad lives in Zion, you are nice and close to us! :)
as someone has already said ... try google search, look through yahoo groups, meetup.com and matchingmoms
Then if you don't find anything, just make up some fliers saying something like you've just started a playgroup in the area and have people contact you if interested. This is what I did a couple years back and just passed them out in my neighborhod, we now have been going for almost 2 years and have a great time ;)

I am in a great moms group in Illinois called Mom-2-Mom in Mchenry county but that isn't too close to you. I would try doing a google search of moms groups in your area or you can also try meetup.com. There is also a website called matchingmoms.com where you sign up for playgroups.

I'm a member of the MOM's Club (an international support group)
in Indiana - maybe you could email one of the other chapter close to you to help you start your own - they have "big" sisters for each chapter and maybe they have some suggestions for starting a new group in your area.

I have the same problem; we are in a new area (just south of Tremper) and it's not really a neighborhood though. A field across the street, etc. So I have been looking as well. I found that MOM's group. If you are willing to do that it costs money but I can send you info on that. Someone else posted on it to. I don't have that much time to start a chapter here but I'd join if you did! LOL There is also a "playgroup" in yahoo. It's ____@____.com. However, they don't ever meet?!?!! They talk a great deal about getting together but don't. So if you create something I sure would be willing to help! I am looking for something to do with the little one's during the week. Weekends are our family time; my husband travels often during the week. Good luck and please let me know!!

I also live on the southside of Kenosha & would be interested in getting together once in a while. I am a 28 yr old mother of a 10 month old boy, as of this week he will be 10 months on friday. I work full time in Libertyville IL. I am pretty busy for the next couple months planning my sisters wedding shower, batcherlotte party & my son's 1st birthday party all in 2 months. I come out to the south side from Bristol area at least once a week. I only have a four year old at home during the day, but it would really do him good to get out away from his older brothers for a relaxed playtime. I would have it at my house, but his older brothers are driving me batty with carrying food around, so keeping up is insane! ###-###-#### Cell

Most of my friends don't have kids, and my neighbors are all a little distant and don't really have kids that are my kids age. I work a lot, but on my days off it would be nice to have someone to get together with o let the kids play but to also have an adult to talk to:) Congrats on the new baby!!!! I live in Lake In The Hills, IL and belong to a Mom's Group and love it. I grew up in Kenosha and do not know of a Mom's Group there but my sister-in-law lives in Kenosha. She has one son (7yrs) and works part time (Mon-Wed at Abbott). If you'd like I could get you 2 in touch...it could be the start of a mom's group or someone to hang out with.
