Hi I live in Kenosha. New mother of twins. Boy and Girl 4 months old. My husband drives about that distance into Illinois from Kenosha. It isn't to bad depending on the time of day he leaves for work. Traffic can be pretty bad around 5pm. My doctor for my children are at Aurora Hospital and it is pretty good and very close to my house! I am 36 staying at home with my babies until Sept which I will then return to work. I am a teacher. Welcome to Kenosha! When will you be moving?

Hope your move goes well. I am a SAHM in Winthrop Harbor, IL (about 10 min from Kenosha) I have an 8 month old son named Kier. A great church in Kenosha which we attend is Crossway Community Church. They meet in a school right now, but should be moving to a building on Hwy 50 in June. It might be a little larger than you like but it is a wonderful church and the pastor is amazing. Feel free to email me with more questions ( I know Kenosha pretty well) and I would love to get together with you!

Hi D.,

We moved here last year and when our lease is up we will be moving closer to my husbands job. We did not realize how bad the traffic was going to be. There are days it takes over two hours to get home. That takes alot of time out of our family time. Don't get me wrong, Kenosha is a great little town but the commute is a killer. We've been told it's more expensive down in Illinois and I am not doubting that at all but you have to add up all the gas you will use too.

My kids are older than yours (9 & 12) so we will have to look into new schools, doctors, dentists, etc. We feel it will definately be worth it in the long run. My husband will not be so cranky when he arrives home after a half hour drive instead of 2.

If you have your heart set on Kenosha, we just loved Stocker as an Elementary school. It is near Target and Lowes off of Green Bay Road or Highway 31.

Any questions, please feel free to email me.

I live in Grayslake. Have your husband make the drive work hours it could take him well over an hour with traffic. We are considering moving to Kenosha too. Best of Luck

D.,
I have two sons, one of whom is 16 months. An awesome pediatrician is Dr. Sheryn Abraham/Lakeside Pediatrics located in the Kenosha Hospital (United Hospital System) at 6308 8th Avenue in Kenosha (near the lake). Dr. Abraham is thorough, patient, and at the end of the visit will summarize everything she covered and advised (this helps alot with the memory!) They're accommodating when your child is ill and easy to reach. Good luck on your move to the area. C. B.
