I am looking for a new pediatrician. I came across this practice group (Child Health Associates) http://childhealthassociatespc.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/s... and was wondering if anyone goes to them. The doctors are Weinstein, Miral, Kolin, etc. If so, what are your likes and dislikes?!? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have gone to them for a very long time, and I do like them. Dr. Weinstein is a superb diagnostician, but I do like all of them. The only thing that I consistently don't like is the way they do their appointments. It is either a well check-up appointment, or a sick visit, and sick visits you can only make on the same day. So, for instance, one of my daughter's developed a leg problem, and I couldn't make an appointment for her in advance, I had to call that day and be at the mercy of their schedule, and risk taking her out of school if they didn't have one available after school. They won't make an appointment on Monday (for instance) for Thursday after school. It doesn't come up that often, but it is a huge inconvenience. I have had many wonderful experiences with them, through many illnesses, special needs, and only one bad one, when they wouldn't do a strep culture and I felt it was warranted. I don't even know if that dr. is still with them anymore. They also ahve a nice choice of female/male dr's, which became important as my girls entered their teen years. They go to Beaumont Hospital. They also have an office in West Bloomfield on Haggerty & 14 Mile Rd. Good choice.

We have gone to Child Health Associates at their Farmington Hills office for several years. They are always prompt, courteous, and helpful. Office is clean and pleasant. We have been satisfied thus far.

We go to Child Health in Farmington Hills and see Weinstein regularly. We have also been seen by Miral and Kolin but I get those 2 confused (both female and look much alike). The practice is great. They take the time to see you and you feel like you are honestly being listened to, and not rushed. The downside is you sometimes wait awhile in the waiting room, but I can always get same day appts. I think you will really like them. We do and have been going there for 9 years.

I take both of my boys there (ages 4 and 7 months) - have always had great care there. They are accommodating, we have never waited more than 10-15 minutes and have always been able to get a sick appointment same day with ease. We have met and had appointments with most of the doctors - our favorite (and we try to schedule with her) is Dr. Koval. She has 4 children herself, is very understanding, listens to concerns and will test/do labs if you are worried about something. She was the only doctor who could ever get my older son (when he was younger) to let her look in his ears without a fit - very good bedside manner and relates to kids well. Also - Martha on the nurse line is extremely capable and has a way of making you (the worried mom) feel better and less stressed in the face of kid sickness, etc. We go to the Troy office, which is remodeled, fresh, clean and really nice - great fishtank too.

Hi -
I take my kids to chid care associates and I would recommend them. It is a large practice as you can see from the website. If you do try them, I am sure you will find some doctors that you feel you connect with better then others. However, I can say that I have never had a bad experience with any of them. They are very accomodating with their hours and sick appointments and this is what I really like best. They are open 6 days a week with some evening hours as well. They have a nurses line that is operated by 2 nurses that are VERY responsive in returning calls on just about anything. The 2 nurses have been with them for I believe 30 years each and are quite knowledgeable. This practice has been around forever. They just moved from Bloomfield to Troy. They also have a seperate office in Farmington Hills as well that I have been to. I have been other places so I have something to compare them to. I would rate them better than the other practices I have been to. I hope this helps!

Hi!
I actually went to CHA when I was a child (back when it was just Dr. Singer, who is now all but retired) and now I take my kids there. I really like all the docs. Yes, some I connect better with, but I have NEVER had a bad experience or received bad advice, etc from them. My youngest had RSV last winter when he was 10 weeks old and they were awesome, especially when they told me they wanted to admit him to the hospital and I all but had a breakdown in the room!
The new offices in Troy are amazing. There are so many rooms, they are huge - no problem bringing a stroller or siblings in any of the rooms.
The nursing staff is great, especially the nursing line.
I would definitely give them a shot.
The 2 that we see are Weinstein and Koval.
