I Really Want to Find a Pediatrician That I Love!

Hey there moms. Just got home from yet another stressful visit to my pediatrician. I have three children. One son who is five years old, 2 daughters ages 3 and 2. Our family almost lives at the doctors office during the cold season. Wondering if any moms out there are really pleased with their pediatricians? Would love to hear about an office that values patient care and cares a little less about money. It would also be nice if the pediatrician actually let me finish a sentence! Thanks for your thoughts.

What can I do next?

I absolutely adore my pediatrician. I actually went there when I was a kid. So I know he knows what he's doing. He's a little older, but a wonderful doctor and he knows his stuff. The office is a little far from ferndale though, it's in Livonia on Seven Mild Road between Farmington and Merriman. It's called Brentwood Pediatrics. Dr. Marcus is the doc I used to see, and now my son does too! Dr. AJ is the other doc there, and he's great too. Or if you are looking for someone on the younger side, Dr. Marcus' son has his own practice now. He is Dr. Todd Marcus, and you'd have to look up where he is. He used to work with his dad at the office when I went there. Anyway, hope this helps! They really are great!

Dr. David Schindler in Novi. He's a family practitioner, so he can see you as well - which you'll appreciate, cause he's awesome.

My pediatrician is Dr. Maureen Kelly from Bloomfield Pediatrics, located on Woodward Ave and Square Lake Rd. All the doctors in that office are superb and very caring. They are associated with Beaumont Hosp. and take most of the major insurances. My kids are 13 and 16 now and have always had above and beyond care through Dr. Kelly.

My pediatrician is the best. Now I'm sure alot of other mothers say the same thing about theirs but hands down Dr. Ashraf Berry of Macomb Pediatric Associates-. One location is in Warren and the other Clinton Twp. ###-###-####. He also did win the magazines "The Hour" Top doc for the top pediatrician on the East side. He spends all the time you need and calls you back whenever you leave a message because he tells you to call him if you need anything. Im a first time mother and I breastfed for 7 months and wouldn't of been able to do it without his expertise. Really? He helped me through it every time I was going to give up I would call him to ask questions and he would call as late as 11pm after he was done seeing patients. Thats the best part about their office twice a week they are open until 8:30pm and on Saturdays til 2pm. The rest of the week 5:30pm. One last thing.....if you have a sick child and you call that day you automatically get in. Call when the phones turn on at 8:30am in the morning. If you call for a sick child and want to make that appointment another day rather than the day you called they will tell you that they cannot do that because they don't want to be reliable if your child gets sick before the day you schedule. That's the reason if you call that day you get an appointment that day. It's such a breeze too when you call to make it and the nurses their will answer anything and I mean anything you need and they too do not rush you at all. I really hope yo consider him

I'm with everyone who recommended Child Health Associates on Woodward at 16 Mile. We have never waited more that 5-10 minutes to get in the exam room, the nurses are nice, the front desk staff is nice, the physicians (especially Kolin and Koval) are great - they listen and do not condescend, good bedside manner with my two year old (he has been going there since birth). All of his records are on a portable laptop they bring in with them so they can access everything right in the room if necessary and Martha on the nurse line is a gem - very reassuring, but if you are worried, so is she and she will make room for you in the schedule. We have had nothing but good experiences there (oh, and they have a sick and well waiting room)and I will take my next one there too!

Hi T.,
I also live in Ferndale and love my pediatrician. We take our two kids (boy 3, girl 1) to Child Health Associates at Woodward and Big Beaver. ###-###-####. It is a group of doctors and like all but one. My favorite and the one we schedule appointments with id Dr. Myra Kolin. She is fabulous. We also see Dr. Weinstein sometimes and of course the others for emergency sick visits. Sometimes the appointments are running late but I know it is becasue she is seeing someone else that had greater needs than anticiapted and I appreciate knowing that she will give my kids the same full attention even if she is running behind instead of rushing me through. They also have a great nurse hotline...you can call Martha with quesitons and she is wonderful about returning calls.

My kids go to Dr. Buzenski. I love going there, I'm able to talk a lot about my concerns and he always takes time. His office is on 19 mile in Clinton Twp. When my ds was first born, we went to Dr. Lucilla Olson. Her office was in downtown Mt. Clemens. I had heard great things about her and really liked her. We switched because of insurance issues, and she was the one who referred us to Dr. Buzenski.

I know several people who go to Dr. Mandy...not sure where his office is though. Anyway, they all LOVE him. If I weren't happy where I was, I'd switch.

Sorry, I just saw you were in Ferndale, so these rec's may be a little far for you!

I am a mom of 3 also. My children are 5, 2, and 7 months. We use Northpointe Pediatrics on Schoenherr at Common (12 1/2 Mile). There are 8 doctors there. We see Dr. nadarajah. She is fantastic! She has a LOT of patience. She adores children. She remembers them well each time. She is very encouraging towards my children and me. She deals very well with my concerns as well as my husband's. I HIGHLY recommend her. This office in general has great doctors whoa re caring. The nice part about there being so many is that you can always get an appointment same day if your child is sick. they have late nights and Saturday morning appointments.

My kids go to Dr Nayak & Bronni. They are in southgate, right on northline. Not sure where you live, but they are fantastic. My first visit there I forgot my checkbook, and they said, dont worry about it, you can catch up next time.
There is a nurse practictioner in the office too, but the Dr's are fantastic. They explain more than you even care to know!

Hi!

I REALLY love our pediatrician, even though it's a little bit longer of a drive than our previous one. The practice is called Orchard Pediatrics and the doctor my children see most often is Dr. Rhonda Elton. She has been great and is very thorough. The phone number is ###-###-#### and they are on Orchard Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills.

I was going to a practice closer to where I live before and believe me, Dr Elton is worth the drive! I have had some experience with the other doctors there and have been pleased as well. I hope this helps!

My children go to Dr. Sanford Lax in Clawson. It's actually a family practice so everyone goes there. I have had a lot of bad doctors before and I absolutely LOVE him and his nurses. They remember who I am. He has a wonderful bedside manner and answers any questions I have. Actually, he is on the pediatrician list for the Birthing Center at Providence Hospital. My mother-in-law referred him to me actually. One of my sister-in-laws goes to him with her two children as well. I just feel extremely comfortable there and NEVER feel ill at ease. His number is ###-###-####.

I'm sure you have plenty of referrals now. Good luck in your choice.

Hi T.. K. from Rochester Hills here. I am the mother of 9-year-old twin girls and we adore our pediatrician. You didn't say where you reside, so I don't know if Troy would be too far a distance for you to travel. The doctors name is Tamar Mazeranni, MD (Somerset Pediatrics) and he doesn't have the greatest "front-end-looking office" (cause he is into kid-care and not beautiful office) and he doesn't have an associate either, but if its excellent care that you are after, this doctor makes himself available all hours. He lives nearby his office, so has even come in on Saturday evening and on Sunday's for my girls if, for example, an ear is "screaming" with pain, or an odd-looking Christmas-tree shaped rash appears on the back, out of now where. Depending on your insurance (we have $20 co-pay), I believe he takes most. I may not be exact about the spelling of his name, but close enough that you can find him in the telephone directory.
Good luck!

I visit Mali & Mali in Troy. I usually see Dr. Zoey. I am very pleased with this practice. I have always been able to get appointments when I need. Also, I never feel rushed during the one on one time with the physician.
