Hey all,

I am looking for a pediatrician near Novi/Northville. Recently, my family and I moved back to MI from KY. I have been lucky enough to not need a doctor for my girls. Now, they are due for their well-checkups and I need to find a doc in the next few weeks. I hoping for a doctor who has privelages at Royal Oak Beaumont but I suppose it isn't THAT big a deal.

Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

I live in the Northville area, and take my children to Orchard Pediatrics. They are a great bunch of doctors, and are affiliated with Beaumont. My sister-in-law recommended them to me. I have a niece who has a liver condition, and they were the doctors who discovered it when she was an infant. The address is 6900 Orchard Lake. The phone number is ###-###-####. Dr Fisher and Dr Klune are the best.

Thank you,

J.

Hi there

Providence Park Pediatrics is a good place to take your kids.

It is a group practice with great hours and they are located on Grand River and Beck. The building is behind Providence Hospital.

My son sees Dr. Parikh and she is very good.

Hope this helps out

Child Health Associates on Haggerty, just south of 14 mile. Dr. Schnarr and Dr. Singer are both excellent doctors! They even have separate waiting areas for sick and well children, so there's less chance of spreading germs. We tried a couple of differnt doctors before someone told me about them. We live in Canton, so it's a little hike for us, but totally worth it.

M.,
We use Child Health Associates in Farmington Hills and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Mackey. She LISTENS to your concerns and doesn't give the impression that she's rushing you out the door. They can always fit us in when we need a same day appointment. We do occasionally have a bit of a wait when we get there, but always get our "share" of time with her. The phone number is ###-###-#### and they also have a website...

My pediatrician has an office in West Bloomfield and a new office in Novi. The main/oldest doctor is Dr. Steven Glickfield. I try to see Seth Forman. He's been in the practice about 10 years. The West Bloomfield number is ###-###-####. I started with them almost 10 years ago, when my daughter was born. My 7 year old son also goes there. Beaumont is who they are affiliated with, as well as DMC.

I can't recommend Orchard Pediatrics strongly enough myself! They are affiliated with Beaumont Royal Oak, and they are knowledgeable and supportive. They helped find an extremely rare heart tumor in my son and were supportive beyond our wildest dreams while it was diagnosed and treated. I also love that they are very accessible-- I can call with even the most mundane question and will get a response (from a doctor) by the end of the workday. Our favorites are Dr. Nadis, Dr. Dunn, and Dr. Fisher.

We also see Dr. Susan Laurent in Novi. I agree with everything the previous poster said. She is affiliated with Beaumont, Providence and I think also St. Mary Mercy in Livonia, which gives you options for quick trips to x-rays and other things. I don't if she is still teaching, but she used to teach some classes in Pediatrics at the University of Michigan.

She is always willing to address issues over the phone and always responds to after-hours calls personally. The office staff is great, and being a small practice, really gives you a sense of belonging. Some other bigger practices have separate waiting rooms for sick kids and kids that just go for check ups and well-baby visits. Dr. Laurent's office does not have that, but they always schedule visits, so they are not in the waiting room at the same time. Well, you rarely have to wait in the waiting room more than 5 minutes. They are also very accomodating scheduling visits.

Good Luck!

There are five doctors in the practice most are female. Only one male doctor. They are very compassionate and caring. Not sure how you feel about caccines, but they do not pressure you to have vaccines done. The parent has the ultimate decision in most cases. The office is located on Haggerty just south of Pontaice Trail. We take our 2 year old there.

I take my sons to Dr. Susan Laurent in Novi. She's located on Novi Road just south of 10 Mile. She was recommended to me and both my husband and I really like her -- she's very responsive to our concerns and is more than willing to personally answer questions over the phone. It's a very small practice so the service is very personal and appointments are scheduled far enough apart that we never feel rushed and never have to wait in the waiting room. I LOVE the fact that she's affiliated with both Beaumont and Providence -- so if we just need a quick X-ray or something, she always gives us the option of running over to Grand River and Beck if we don't want to drive to Royal Oak. Her number is ###-###-#### if you decide to give her a try.
