Any One Had Experience with Dr. Randy Morris, Naperville

My husband and I have an appointment with Dr. Randy Morris in August to discuss fertility. I am currently 34 and have gone through many fertility treatments...unsuccessfully. (My last experience was in 2005.) Now that I am quickly approaching the magical "35" I thought I would give it one last try and have heard good things about this doctor. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with Dr. Morris (good or bad).

Thank you.

I was referred to Dr. Morris years ago. I ended up not needing the help, but I thought he was very professional, patient, and kind. I've only heard good things about him. And he has an email newsletter that I'm still on that has tons of great information.

I also went to Dr. Morris and found him to be very personable. After going to FCI (Fertility Centers of Illinois) which dropped the ball on testing me for thyroid issues despite having a high thyroid test, Dr. Morris immediately recognized my thyroid issue and had me tested for thyroid antibodies - it came back very high. He did treat me for the antibodies, although there really is no "cure." It's an autoimmune issue. I did conceive although I miscarried - probably due to the antibodies. Dr. Morris said he believes I'd get pg and stay pg eventually if I kept trying, but I've had three m/cs due to thyroid antibodies and there is no real cure for this problem. Plus I'm 45 and been at it for 2.5 years, so the pressure is on to make a decsion to move to adoption or I'll be too old and age out of adoption. However, my cousin is considering being a surrogate with donor embryos and if everything lines up OK, I'll use Dr. Morris.

I was going to Dr. Morris for about two years. I kept trying IUIs even though he suggested I switch to IVF because of my age (42 now). Finally in January I switched to an HMO which provided better coverage and on my first attempt I had three eggs retrieved with two implanted. I'm thrilled to say I'm 27 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. His hours are so flexible for monitoring and I love his nurses. He isn't the most personable but I didn't care. 90% of the time you interact with the nurses and you won't find any nicer.
One of my best friends used him also and she felt the same.
Call him today! You will be very glad you did.

It's so great to read the responses you've received and the people who have conceived using Dr. Morris! My sister was referred to him after 3 failed IVF attempts with two different clinics. She was unsure of his approach at first, as it wasn't anything like the others she'd had. She did conceive and is now 20 weeks pregnant with her first baby. Good luck!

Dr. Morris and his staff are WONDERFUL!! He helped us conceive our twins. He is patient, understanding, and knowledgable. The staff is great. The office hours for monitoring are as early as 6am. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. You are in good hands and won't be disappointed!!

L.,

I used Dr Morris for both of my children. I started at age 34 and after 4 IUIs conceived my son and then 9 mos. later it took 4 IUIs and 2 IVF cycles for my daughter over 2 years. I think he is willing to try techniques to jump start the process but he is highly clinical in his approach. He upped my medication and extended the stimulation period much longer than average to give us a better chance to get mature eggs.

We had no known factors and he will be the first one to say your eggs are old and propose a donor.

After an IVF transfer was canceled in '07 due to no embryos passing PGD, we waited 10 mos and tried again. He was honest that our odds weren't good--9% or less.

After PGD, we had 1 embryo out of the 7. It tested inconclusive twice. He offered to re-test it a 3rd time with a new probe and it passed so he delayed our transfer to Day 6 (which I had not heard of) to let it catch up on growth.

With acupuncture and only 1 embryo, we got a positive pregnancy result. I'm sure even he was surprised.

Dr. Morris is all about the odds and statistics which is probably why he has a high success rate. The nurses are wonderful and comforting. He did seem a little more connected the more appointments he had with us but he didn't offer any false hope. He is a scientist.

We chose to do holistic treatments like acupuncture, cleansing and herbs in between our 2 IVF cycles. He didn't support those concepts--he only believes in acupuncture before/after transfers but we did it anyway. We felt as if we'd done everything humanly possible to get our bodies ready for the final IVF.

I wish you the best.

I was having a problem and my doctor recommended Dr. Morris. He said that he and his wife had great experience with him. Then my husband works with someone who just had a baby with the help of Dr. Morris. I have not personally gone to him but I heard all good! Good Luck!!

Hi L.,

I do not have any experience with Dr. Morris, however, I have undergone fertility treatments twice (both successful, thank God) with Dr. Charles Miller in Naperville. He is an excellent physician and his nurses/staff are wonderful.
