Any Good Movies in Theaters?

My husband and I have the opportunity to go on a date before baby #2 arrives! We live in a small town, with the major city about an hour away, and decided to just stay close to home in case anything happens with me, or if there is an issue at the sitter's. Since there really isn't much that we can do in our town, we are thinking the best option is a movie and then dinner.

The movies playing at the cinema for that night are: Broken City, Gangster Squad, Zero Dark Thirty, Django Unchained, and the Guilt Trip.

Any opinions on these would be great! Thanks!

Django Unchained is fantastic. It's violent but, oddly, it's also funny and very well written. I agree that the music is chosen with inspiration. Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz are fantastic.

Guilt Trip is lighter fare but good if you're in the mood for it and if you like Rogen and Streisand (I do). I also plan to see Broken City because I like the people who are in it. Haven't read reviews of the others yet.

Have fun!

I've heard that Zero Dark Thirty and Django are both excellent - there's also Les Mis and Lincoln if they are still out.

I just saw "Zero Dark Thirty"-it was very good-not too much bashing of President Bush; and obama did not go down the zip line with the German Shepherd under his arm and single handedly shoot bin laden as was initially reported. "Guilt Trip" would be funny if you can bear to look at streisand for two hours. So nice to support the super rich in hollywood who vote for the person who wants to keep the poor even poorer.

We saw Zero Dark Thirty last weekend. Even though you know ultimately the outcome, it kept us on the edge of our seat.

My kids saw Django and thought it was hilarious....not sure if it was supposed to be!!

I have seen Silver Linings - it's OKAY - I LOVE Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro - however there are a LOT of F-bombs dropped in the movie. So if swearing just to swear bothers you- then this is NOT the movie for you.

Gangster Squad got "bad reviews" - however - what I have found is that if it got bad reviews - I LOVED it!!! :)

I have had two friends tell me that I should go see Guilt Trip and Jack Reacher....

HAVE FUN!!!

Broken City or Guilt Trip would be my picks. If you want to laugh go w/ GT. If you want a good story BC.

I am looking forward to all but Zero Dark Thirty. It might be good; I just don't care for war/military movies. I guess it depends on what kind of mood you're in--comedy or drama. They all look pretty good to me.

From what I understand Django Unchained was pretty graphic in parts... although that's typical Tarantino, if you're into that sort of thing.

What about a comedy? Out the of the movies you picked, I probably would choose Gangster Squad. From what I understand, Zero Dark Thirty is only a guess at what actually happened, so if that doesn't bother you, then that one seems like a pretty good choice, as well.

I just saw Zero Dark Thirty and it was excellent. My husband and I normally dont' like the same movies but this one was great for both of us. It's quite long though, at 2:40. Django Unchained and the Guilt Trip are both supposed to be very good as well. Have fun!

We just saw Django and it was great! The acting was fantastic, I loved the music they used.
I have heard good things about Zero Dark Thirty and Argo although neither look particularly appealing to me.
I looooved the Hobbit. Very well done, super funny in some parts. I guess that is not in your list though :)

My husband and I loved Django Unchained and it wasn't graphic in terms of typical violence but rather it was made to be overly graphic on purpose for comedic effect. It was quite a funny movie and we felt it was worth the money. Cristoph Waltz deserved the award he received and definitely should nab an Oscar for his performance.

Les Mis was absolutely my favorite out there right now. However, I love Christoph Waltz, so I would say Django..However, if you want a light hearted movie I'd stick with Guilt trip.

I just saw THIS IS 40. I liked it and it showed some great movie previews for movies coming out soon. Most of them had Melissa Mcarthy in them. I hardly ever go to the movies but I was mad at my hubby so I left him with the kids and went alone. I enjoyed it

Husband and I have been waiting for Broken City to come out, but we haven't seen it so I can't advise on it one way or the other. I just know I've loved almost everything I've seen Russell Crowe in, and Mark Wahlberg (in recent years) as well. (That movie he did, I think called Sniper?, I could do without).

I didn't know the name of it, just that those guys were in it, so I just pulled it up and it happened to be Broken City. Can't wait. :)
