After Pregnancy Body

My most recent addition to our family is 1 month old (baby #4). My baby weight isn't the problem...I still have the linea de negra (the dark line down the belly) and its dark. Shouldn't it have gone away by now? I'm thinking with my other kids it was gone by now, is my memory just shady? Anyone?

What can I do next?

I did not have a very noticable "linea negra" when pregnant with my son, but, I did have Chloasma, "the mask of pregnancy". I had dark freckled patches on my forehead, and the sides of my breasts. The same as you, I thought they would go away quickly, but, it took about 3-4 months for them to fade, and eventually disappear.
Don't worry, it will go away, with time!!

I had mine until my daughter was almost nine months. One day, it just scrubed off in the shower all at once. Strange I know. Give it time.

hi, Mine didn't go away for a couple months after i had my daughter. I got a little worried that it would never go away too. I think my daughter was about 4 or 5 months when it faded away.

I have a 7 week old, and I have the same problem. However I was told by many women and my doctor that the line may get lighter but will never really fade completely. Sorry.

Hi F.!

I have one 9 month old son so I don't know if I'm "normal" or not, but I still have that dark line running down my tummy. It has lightened up a little bit, but it's still noticeable. I've lost all the baby weight, too, but I still have obvious stretch marks and that line down the middle. You're not alone!

Hi F. O. I have just recently had twin girls (4mos ago) and I still have that line and it is really dark too. I think it takes like 6 mos for it to start to go away. From what I understand it is caused by hormones. Hang in there it will go away. :)

My daughter is almost 3 months old and I still have that line too. I had it for awhile after I had my son too. I think it took about 6 months to go away. It will fade slowly, but it does go away completely.

With my daughter I lost it within a month. I had my son almost 8 months ago and I still have a faded version. :( I heard it could take up to a year. I've been scrubbing too! LOL I see it as another battle scar. :)

Mine to months to disappear. It does a few months for all the pregnancy hormones to go away, then it should fade and disappear.

Hi F.,

My dark line faded over about 3 months after my baby was born. Give it a little more time and it should fade nicely!
