We are having a birthday party for my 3 yr old at SugarBaby's in Houston. I am trying to think of things to do. She doesn't have many friends her age. Most of the people will be my family and friends (may slip an invitation into the bags of daycare friends). What theme should I do for a french style black and white room? What crafts should we do. Also, I would like to make her cake myself (but still have the kids decorate and eat cupcakes). We will be going to disney world immediately prior. Any advice on themes, favors, cake style, games, etc.?????

I just spoke to them and confirmed that I cannot bring in a home made cake, but I could cater in food, even though I had planned to purchase cupcakes for everyone and buy drinks for all the adults. They also were a little abrasive on the phone and I saw some reviews from others about the bad customer service, so I am nixing the party at that location. I would still like to do the same thing, so if you guys know of any other sites like that one, please let me know.

What can I do next?

You are having a party at a cupcake store, but not having the store make a cupcakes or the cake/cupcake cake? I just looked on their website and for parties it says that you can bring in additional food items like snacks and trays, but it seems that they are wanting you to purchase the cake from them.

It would probably be no problem for them to make a Minnie cupcake cake or to even make cupcakes with Minnie faces.

You could even have a whole Disney theme. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy...

I always like to have a Sundae bar to go with my cupcakes.

I would check with them to make sure it's okay for you to make the cake. It seems the party space at a cupcake store would be for people who wanted their cupcakes. I know a lot of places in Atlanta that serve their own food/bakery items mandate that you have to use their food if having a party at their location.

For a theme -if you want to go with Disney characters, that would probably be a hit since she will have just gone there, but in that setting with a girl I would probably go with fairies or dragonflies/butterflies -something like that.

Go for Disney theme as minnie mouse and/or princesses!!

At Sam's Club They have Mickey mouse chicken nuggusts. I would serve them chicken nuggusts, fruits with dip, and let them eat their own cupcakes. You can ask Sugarbaby to make a cupcake or mini cake with Mickey mouse in it for birthday to blow out the candles.

Games- I love Karen's ideas. You could use Pin on th ears or nose on the mouse. You can storytime few Disney books..

Please check out the Etsy.com- They have awesome party favors, clothes, and more for Disney Fans!! I always shop there everytime we have Disney theme party or vacation to Disney parks and cruises!

Have fun and good luck!!

Do a Minnie Mouse theme, Her red and white polka dot dress and her black ears would look great in a black and white room. The cake would be fairly easy to create (one large circle for the face, two smaller circles for the ears) and she will just have been to Disney World. Here are a couple of ideas for decorations and games from a website:

Decorations
Decorate the Mickey and Minnie Mouse party in Red, White and Black with a little yellow thrown in. Use Red tablecloths and solid white plates (Minnie Mouse's polka dot dress), black cups and yellow utensils. Use helium balloons tied in bunches for the party table or tie on the back of the chairs. Black, red and yellow streamers are always a fun touch.

Games
Mouse Ear Treasure Hunt
Object of the game is to find the hidden mouse ears - the special red ears can be turned in for a prize.
Cut mouse shaped ears out of posterboard about 3 - 4" wide. Cut most of the ears out of black poster board or cardstock, but also cut 3 or 4 (more depending on how many special prizes you want to give out) from red poster board or cardstock. Buy several small prizes and number them. On the back of the red mouse ears place a number that corresponds with one of the prizes. Hide the mouse ears all over the backyard, park or party room. Send the children off to look for the hidden mouse ears. If they find a red one they get the prize that corresponds to the number on the back.
Variations:
Hide only red mouse ears along with candy and treats.
If you are having a piñata you can enclose the red ears with the party candy.

Pin the Tail on the Mouse
Buy a large poster or draw a picture of Minnie or Mickey Mouse on a large posterboard. Trace their tail from the poster and make several tails - one for each party guest. Write their names on the back of their tail and attach a piece of double stick tape. Hang the poster on a wall and line the children up opposite it. Blindfold them one at a time and see who can place their tail closest to the tail on the poster. The closest to the original tail wins.
