My son is 11 months and weighs about 22 pounds, woould it be okay to turn him around.I know you are supposed to wait until they are one and at least twenty pounds but he is really hating his car seat now and he looks a little silly being that big facing rear.He is crawling and has taken a few steps so he seems strong enough.Any thought would be appreciated.thanks

Graco Comfortsport Convertbile Carseat

Hi, My 17 month is finally at 20 pounds. She's 30 inches long. We need to get her a new carseat. We have a Graco Infant Seat and it worked fine for us. I'm looking currently at getting another Graco Carseat. I want her to stay rear-facing so the ComfortSport is the only option. After looking at all the different features. I think we'd like the DRIFTWOOD model. Anybody had this particular one or any of the Graco convertible carseats? I'm looking for both positive and negative reviews. Thanks

Convertable Carseat in Small Car

We are going to need to purchase a new car seat very soon. We have a 4-door Honda Civic. It's a small car and we are worried that a convertable car seat is going to be too big. Do you have any recommendations of a smaller-sized convertable seat that you think will work for us?

Switching to a Front Facing Car Seat.

I am currently using the rear facing infant carrier, however, my son is now 6 months old and is at the height requirment to switch seats. He is still 1 lbs below the weight limit for the front facing (22lbs), and I am wondering if it is even safe to switch him yet? He still seems so young to be front facing but he can sit up on his own and when he is in his carrier he just pulls himself into a sitting position and gets angry when you have to latch him down. Plus it sure would be nice to not have to lug around the extra weight of the...

Toddler Car Seat

Hi everyone, we recently switched our one year old over to a convertible car seat. We got a really, nice (expensive) one from my SIL. Here's my question, my hubby and I share the responsibility of picking up and dropping of our son at daycare. For instance, Jay will drop off and I'll pick up. I'm so confused about what to do about the car seat. With the infant car seat, it was easy to take out of the car and switch to another car. Well, that's not the case with the convertible car seat, it's large and in charge and difficult to maneuver...

Rear Facing Seats???

Hey Mamas, Recenlty I heard that studies have shown babies "should" be rear facing until 2 years of age to help minimize injuries to head and neck should an accident occur. I must admit, I was bummed when this recommendation came out as our daughter is 9 days from turning one. That being said, I started to wonder if the Britax that I bought (2 of them actually) back in November of 2010 was ever intended to be rear facing for a child over age one (and within weight requirements). Your thoughts? I know these are 'recommendations' but I...

Britax Convertible Car Seat or Graco Snugride Infant Car Seat?

When deciding on which car seat to buy prior to the birth of twins, is it better to invest in two convertible car seats from the start that they can grow into (and hope they'll meet the minimum weight requirement of 5 pounds when they're ready to go home) instead of two infant car seats knowing they'll be outgrown after the first year and will eventually need to be replaced with another pair of convertible car seats anyway?
