Hello Mamas! My son will be turning 6 years old. We are planning to get him a Wii game for his birthday. Right now all we have is the sports package that came with the Wii. Any suggestions? Would like to find a Wii game that my soon to be 6 year old will like and that is age appropriate. Thanks!

My kids really enjoy Mario Party 8-It is like a board game on tv with mini challenges to move spaces, it is not too hard at all and my 7 year old sone enjoys the Nerf shooting game.

My husband bought Mario Cart for our 4 year old. She likes it, I think shes still a little young for it, but I think a 6 year old would do pretty good with it.

I have 3 6 year olds. Their favorite game is Wii Playground followed by Bowling (not the one that comes with it, but just bowling). Good luck! I'm sure he will enjoy whatever you get.

My 5 1/2 year old LOVES Mario Cart. It's a driving game, and it comes with a steering wheel that your controller fits into. There are dozens of diffent tracks and races, and different ways to play, so you won't get bored with it. My husband and I both like to play it too, but it's simple enough that my daughter is able to play really well (she's actually better than me!). It's super fun. I highly recommend it! Good Luck!

Playground is great- easy for younger kids to play and it's a ton of different games, all in one. Mario Kart or Neighborhood Games are both good as well. Some younger kids have a hard time with the Lego games- Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Batman, etc-- they're just not easy enough for some kids (like mine! but my kids can do it on the xbox- just not on the Wii). I have a son that is about to be 6 and one that is about to be 5. My 5 year old has a really hard time with a lot of the Wii games- but loves Playground and Mario Kart. Good luck and Happy Birthday to your son!

I love Mario Kart Wii! It is so much fun and age appropriate. There are some nah-nah's when passing someone, but it is a ton of fun! You can play with or without the steering wheel, but the wheel does add to the fun.

Hi M.!
My kids love Mario Kart (you don't have to buy the wheel it works with just the controller...matter of fact we have a wheel and don't use it.)

Also Wii Ski and Snowboarding...it is alot of fun and they can do more advanced things as they get older.

HAVE FUN!!!

There is a really fun goofy game that even dads like - Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 - there are burping games, shooting plungers, a band...silly fun stuff that has everyone laughing. My son (11) also likes the Looney Toons Arsenal game...but he's grown up watching Looney Toons with his dad.
Good luck!

Good Morning M., our almost 5 yr old Gr son loves the race games,(these games have taught him eye - hand coordination as they have to collect coins) fishing, bowling, even tries at tennis sometimes with his mom and dad. The race games you can use cars or motorcycles, they have quiet a few to choose from. Asher has his favorites though as do the other kids. 10 & almost 9

Hi M.,
My 4 1/2 year old LOVES Mario Party 8, it is so much fun for the whole family. She also loves the Wii Fit. She likes to watch the other Mario games but is not very good at them herself. I would stay away from the Disney games personally, we have had problems with them being very glitchy. Hope this helps.

Hi M.,
I also have a 6 year old son and a 21 month old daughter. My son got a Wii for X-mas last year and there are several games that he plays. If your son saw the movies Madagascar 1 and 2(Out of Africa), he will enjoy the games for the Wii. They are alot of fun.

We have a Wii Fit and love it. My friend's 4 year old son loves the Wii Fit, it has so much that kids can do. Another friend of mine's son has asked his mom for one for his birthday. It's fun for adults too.

We have the Wii Play disc. It has games like ping pong, fishing, Find the Mii, an air hockey type game and others. My DD (3yo) loves to play the Find the Mii game especially. She figured it out herself and just loves to play it and beat the pants off her dad and I (LOL).

Our 7 y/o likes: CARS, Moster Jam, Sonic the Hedgehog, Luigi's Haunted Mansion, Paper Mario, Mario Cart, Happy Feet, Star Wars Lego, Rock Band & Guitar Hero (some of the songs I don't approve of him playing because of the lyrics).
Out of my son's favorites: I would suggest CARS, Monster Jam, Sonic, Mario Cart & Happy Feet. Another is the Wii fit. My son likes the balance games.

God bless!

Mario Kart is a sure hit! If you have your wii hooked up to the internet there are tons of cool games to download for about $5 that he would love from the old nintendo and sega systems, like pac-man, donkey kong, super mario bros, and sonic. They add new games all the time. How cool would it be to turn on the wii and have a new game show up screen!SURPRISE! Hope your son has a wonderful bday whatever game you decide to get him, I'm sure he'll love it. ~H.

Hi M.,
Sorry to respond a tad late, but hopefully this will also help. My daughter who is 6 years old loves playing Wii Carnival Games and The Littlest Pet Shop. Both are appropriate for the younger crowd and user friendly. Good luck with your choices! I hope your son has a great birthday.
Sincerely,
A.
