Sweater De-fuzzer Question Help

Hi everyone

Cooking my very first chicken in crock pot/slow cooker today. Thanks everyone who gave me suggestions :)

I love wool sweaters. Is there such a thing as a de-fuzzer? Seems to me years ago you could buy something that would remove the 'nubbies' I call them (those little balls). I pick them off, but if there's some thing that takes them off and makes your sweaters look nicer, I'd invest.

I do take reasonable care (follow tag's instructions) when caring for them. Still, I wear them a lot.

Thanks :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone.

I had this little comb type thing years ago and it wasn't super effective. Those look much better.

Yes, I have one, battery-powered sweater razor. Type "sweater razor" on Amazon, you'll see a bunch.

I just googled "sweater shaver" and came up with this. Evercare Giant Fabric Shaver. And there were several others. Now I haven't used one and I would suspect over time it would weaken the fabric but it might buy you some time with your fav's.

There used to be sweater shavers out there.
I haven't looked recently.
Any safety razor will work.
Just have the sweater flat on a counter or firm surface and gently run the razor over it and it will shave off the nubs.

I bought a fantastic one off of either HSN or QVC. It almost looks like a mini window cleaner with adjustable/ interchangeable edges depending on what type of sweater or how thick the fuzzies are. It came with accessories too like a handheld rubber brush, bag, etc. I love it as I get fuzzies off the sweater of all types and leggins ( from pilling) and this makes it look like new again. Very inexpensive too. If need an immediate remedy but not as good, take a simple razor and brush/ rake it over the fuzzies then use a lint brush or roller tape brush to remove loosened fuzzies. Hope it helps.

There used to be these little hand held gadgets that had a silver circle on the top with hole in (like a strainer) with a little blade (like a fan) inside that you could take apart to clean by blowing off, and the bottom of the gadget had a removable seethrough compartment that you could take off and dump the fuzzies when it got full and then replace. These things were motorized and I’m sure it was operated by a small battery but I don’t remember. I have not had mine for years but maybe they’re still out there. I keep a disposable razor at work and when I need to, I lightly shave my sweaters. Good luck!

I'm a knitter and use a lot of wool. The best thing you can use is called a sweater stone. You can google (I think I got mine years ago from Amazon). Its like a pumice stone and it works very well and much quicker than the combs. The only problem is that you end up with little dots of pumice on the sweater however I found that taking it outside and giving it a good shake got rid of them asap.
