Your profile says you are in Lorain, we're not too far from you over here in Avon.

We go to Millers Apple Hill in Amherst. They have 2 small mazes the kids love to run through and a wagon to take you out to the orchards. The site says the apple picking runs mid sept-oct.

We go to the North Pool in Elyria for swimming lessons. All the pools in Elyria do them (not sure which is closest to you). The 1st session is almost over but you can still sign up for either of the last 2 sessions.

Click on the link for the brochure at the bottom.

Also, the East, North, and West pools have Family Swim on Saturdays from 5:30-7:30. $2 for adults and $1 for kids.

You can check the Lorain County Metroparks Site.

If you click on the left link for "arrowhead" it will come up with their latest edition that has a calendar with upcoming activities (or you can pick one up at one of the parks). We like to go over to the French Creek Nature Center and do a nature walk and stop in the center to see the few animals.

The Lorain County Fair is coming up in late August. They have a short train ride over that my kids really enjoyed.

We love the Avon Lake Library, they have a fun Discovery Works area that is especially great for rainy days, and it's right near the ALPS playground (my kids like that one)and Bell Park which is really quite and very shady.

We love to do the zoo as often as we can They have their TOUCH exhibit open again this summer. And for special treats/rewards we occasionally visit the childrens museum, history museum, or science center.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Hopefully it gives you some ideas to start with.

Did you just move to the area?

K.

I just remembered another thing. At cobblestone they do free kid movies during the summer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am.

for Strawberry picking, its a little late in the season.
We went to Red Wagon Farms in Columbia Station, but I think they are getting slim pickins.
I believe Mapleside Farms in Brunswick ( I think it's brunswick) has apple picking, but not sure if its the season for that just yet.
Good outdoor park at the Westlake Rec Center.
North Olmsted has an outdoor park and There is a great one in Rocky River on the lake. Its off Wager Road.
Good Luck.

Fitch Farm on 83 in Avon had strawberries. They were small, but good.
