Summer Activities for Kids-ages 14, 10, 7 and 6 - Keller,TX

I am looking for some ideas to keep my kids entertained this summer while I work. My daughter who is 14, almost 15 will be babysitting my two boys (ages 6 and 7) as well as my boss' daughter who is 10. I am trying to come up with things they can do a couple of times a week away from home so they aren't just sitting around watching TV all summer. I work across the street from Pump it Up, so we already have a bounce house option. Thought about roller skating, but that might be hard for my youngest. Can any of you moms help me with some ideas? It would have to be somewhere in the Keller/MidCities area and something that would keep them busy for about 3 hours.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the responses so far! I don't think I am comfortable with water activities...if it was my daughter and just one other child, then ok, but not with 3 other kids.

I haven't been in a long while, but Tornado Terry's was a fun trip once upon a time...it's an arcade. In that same area there are batting cages. Check homestead farms, they have some fun kid activities periodically through the year. For spring break, they did a farmer for the day thing, where kids got to learn about the farm and help feed the baby goats. Chuck E Cheese can be fun for hot days too...but I am not sure if they would allow kids in there without an adult. Keller Pointe is terrific, if everyone can swim. We are also fortunate to live in an area with so many wonderful parks - Bear Creek Park and Johnson Road are two of our favorites.Putt Putt in Hurst is a ball. And I think they have packages that include the rides, putt putt and video games. Bowling- I have heard from many moms that Brunswick Lanes in NRH is great during the day. There is also Lazer Tag in NRH. If you are willing to go to Grapevine, there is the Main Event over there. NRH2O and Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke could be all day excursions.

I live in Tyler, so I am not familiar with your area. But, here, the Museum of Art offers painting classes from 1:30 to 4:30 for a week. My kids love to do that (8 and 4). It would be a nice way to do something for the 6 and 7 year old maybe. Look for some of those afternoon or morning only classes at museums.

Good luck,
L.

I would suggest library day and participating in the summer reading program.

Hobby Lobby has a lot of fun crafty things to do that they may enjoy.

Have a movie day.

Do you have a pool in the area that is fully staffed with lifeguards? I don't know if you would want your 15 yr old watching 3 other children alone but it might be considered if lifeguards are on duty. I know Plano and Allen have indoor and outdoor natatoriums that a fun.

There is a place about 30 minutes from me called Quiggly's Playhouse and you go to art classes. They have mosiacs, art, pottery, paint, etc.

I am not that familiar with your area so I am sorry I can't help more.

There are two splash pads, one in Roanoke off of Cannon Drive and one in Colleyville off Hall Johnson. They are both in parks with playgrounds. There are no pools near either one.
Keller Pointe offers mini summer camps.
Many of the gymnastic places have weekly camps.

I think there's an ASI Gymnastics out by you. They have great drop off summer camps that you can do for a day or a week or all summer!
