Hi L.,
I've tried everything - lasers, lightening facials, creams, etc. Nothing worked until I got a cream from my dr. recently called Tri-luma. I hadn't been able to use it because I was either trying to get pregnant, pregnant or breastfeeding. I used it for four weeks and melasma I've had for ten years disappeared! Good luck.

I've tried all kinds of products, expensive and inexpensive, and nothing made much of a difference for me. Then I got a couple of "photofacials" (laser) at my dermatologist's office and my sun damage/freckles literally fell right off my face within a few days of treatment. I cannot recommend it enough. It costs a fortune but it is very worth it.

Murad has an amazing skin lightner that I use. It works wonders. I use it mainly in the summer because I am in the sun more and that is when my dark spots show. I have not needed to use it at all this winter. It is not cheap but worth the money. You can buy it online or at sephora.

I've had laser treatments done that worked wonders!! But it was pricey! Worth it though....the product that they recommended for more bleaching is remergent bleaching but it's a prescription.

I've used the proactive lightener with some results. It's not to harsh, but not overly effective. With acne you need to be careful about the harshness of some of these bleaching products damaging the skin and causing breakouts. Probably a gentler product is better. The sun makes my darkspots worse, so using a good sunscreen helps me as well.
