Try steam from the shower to open her airways as well as a humidifier. That always helps my daughter

T.--I hope you are able to do saline drops in the nose several times a day. Have an aspirator near by to syringe bulb her nose if mucus starts to come up. The salt will begin to coagulate the mucus and the water will cleanse the membranes in the back of her throat. Best time to do this is when they are wakened from sleep and before a feeding. Check out the homeopathic guide: Every body's guide to homeopathic Medicine by Cummings. It will allow you to understand how to use a whole range of remedies that are completely non-toxic and easy to giv eyour child. I've been using them for 25 years and they have healed me and my family so much without side effects. Now I'm a grandma and a pediatric nurse who tries to get the word out on this alternative way to heal yourself/ C.

Having a humidifier in the room may help with the congestion.

I've always used Johnson's Vapor Bath in the tub and Johnson's Vapor Cream lotion after the bath on my little ones chests. Also, Vicks makes a baby vapor rub that doesn't burn their sensitive skin. Cool mist humidifiers work great, too. Hope that helps!

ask your doc. you don't want too many antibiotics into a young persons body

when my kids were very young they got bronchilitis. the doctor prescribed nebulizer for them. it was covered by insurance and delivered right to our door. through nebulizer they got the medicine called albuterol (comes out as a fog) and that helped tremendously. we still have it and every time there's a bad cough or congestion the doc. recommends we use the nebulizer

Hi T.,

Like Lola my doctor also prescribed Nebulizer treatments. (I walked out of the pediatrician office with ours and it was covered by insurance) When my daughter gets a bronchoial infection I immediately plug up the nebulizer and give her three treatments a day until I fill she doing better. The albuterol really helps loosen the congestion.

We also do warm baths with the Jonhson vapor (gree bottle) before going to bed at night. I also have a vicks plug in for her room. If it is nose congestion I will plug up her humidefier.

Hopes this helps.

Our 1st year was with a lot of RSV and other chest infections. We have done the antibiotics...we also were given the nebulizer with pulmicort or albuterol and that is great to have at the first sign of anything! We actually found the humidifier sometimes made it worse so we bought a controlled one were we can set the humidity level and it turns off or on when needed. Good luck, it is a pain...Oh, we also angled his mattress or once he stopped movin' all over the place, put a big pillow in there that keeps him slighty elevated...he loves his pillow now!

T. - my daughter was diagnosed with Asthma when she was a little over a year old and for many years we have been using nebulizer treatments for her breathing issues. About three years ago I found a company that manufactures safer products and I have converted my home over - since then we have been Asthma free - it's a beautiful thing to know that she is now 14 years old and can actually sleep through the night without coughing. It's all because we removed the toxins from our home - we shop online without spending an arm and a leg - we really spend no new money - just shop in a different place. I'll be glad to show you where I shop if you want more info - just let me know.

I like to cuddle the little one near a running steamer. Sometimes I put Vicks or a little fresh rosemary in the steamer. I try to keep the child upright.
