Salons in Olathe Kansas Area That Donate to Locks of Love

Hi, I have just recently moved into the area and I am looking for a good hair salon. I have donated my hair to locks of love once before but no longer live near enough to go to her for my haircut. So I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a really good salon that also donates to locks of love. I've only ever gone to one hairstylist so I'm pretty worried about getting a good haircut. Any advise would be really appreciated.

What can I do next?

C. and all,

I've been growing my hair for 2 years (slow grower) in order to donate my hair to Locks of Love. However, recently I found out from a hairdresser that Locks of Love only uses 2% (that's TWO percent) of the donated hair for children's wigs. The rest go for adults wigs and hairpieces. Their supposedly is another organization that works on the same principle as Locks of Love in the sense of receiving dontated hair to make wigs for children with cancer but actually does use the donated hair for children with cancer. I thought I'd share this with everyone just in case there were others considering this wondering act of giving. That is the organization I will be donating my hair to.

C.,
It is very easy to send your pony tail to Locks of Love yourself, or most salons will do it for you (I went to a salon, but took my pony tail home so my kids could see what I was doing). I actually ended up sending mine to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, because of the unanswered negative information floating out there about Locks of Love. I live in Olathe, but get my hair cut in Lenexa, at Jagged Edge salon. Brandy is great. Anyway, I hope you get a great cut and feel good about the good you are doing too!

You can get the form and send in your hair on your own. I got the form the first time from Great Clips but I had to mail in the hair so I made a copy of the form but I do think you can get a form from the locks of love website and can go to any hair salon to get your hair cut, just let them know that you are donating your hair so they will cut the length and then shape your hair.

Any Beauty Brands salon will donate for you (the one I specifically go to is at 95th and Quivera across the street from Oak Park mall).
