I am having my first baby at the end of the month and have no clue who to use as a pediatrician! I am 39 and all my friends have children who are MUCH MUCH older!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am taking Connor to Dr. Irons and Dr. Macyko in Olympia Fields. Dr Irons and Dr. Macyko were at the hospital and they work for a clinic my mother is familiar with and it happened that my mom knows both doctors. They are both VERY nice! and were very attentive to Connor. I am going to see how it goes. Thanks for all of your input!

I have heard a Dr. Diamond is supposed to be great. Sorry - I don't have more information than that. Our ped is in Joliet.

Hi M.,

I work in Matteson and I was recommended to Dr. Lawrence Dorsey whose practice is in Flossmoor, on Governor's Highway. He is affiliated with the University of Chicago Hospitals, but his office is in the Ingalls office complex. He is very good, very thorough, and says that most of his patients are fond of alternative methods (i.e. no shots, all organic foods, holistic medicine, etc.) but he supports each parent's right to choose what is best for their family and doesn't judge. He is only in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but there are three other pediatricians in his practice. I believe he is also a faculty member at the U of C. We have Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. His office number is ###-###-#### and the address is 19550 Governor's Highway, Flossmoor, IL.

I, too, am an "older" mom who got lucky later in life. Good luck in your search!

I like Dr. Aileen Donausky at the Hedges Clinic in Frankfort. It's on LaGrange & Colorado across from Lincoln Way H.S. Like you all my friends' kids are way older too. I live in Crete so while this is a drive for me after extensive research and experience with closer facilities it is well worth it. Good Luck!

Hey M.,

First, congrats on having your precious bundle of joy! I hope that everything went well. Also, congrats on your recent marriage.

M., I know that you already decided on pediatricians in Olympia Fields. However, if you ever decide to change, I have a great female pediatrician located in Tinley Park. She also has an office in Oak Lawn, if you're interested just let me know.

Secondly, like you, I am an "older" mom. I have two little blessed angels. I noticed that you live in Richton Park. I'm right next door to you in Park Forest. If when you're up and around and feeling better, you'd like to get together some time to chat about motherhood, etc. please let me know. :)

By the way, I'm 38! Hmmm...That's terrible...I really had to think of my age. Boy am I getting old! :)

Have A Good One!
D.

I use Dr. Paul Panzica at Forefront Adult and Pediatric Medicine. It is on LaGrange Rd in Mokena. He is nice, always takes questions, rarely have I ever waited - he is board certified in pediatrics and in internal medicine. I think he is affiliated with St. James. Where are you delivering? If you choose a pediatrician affiliated with your hospital, they ususally come see the baby there.
