Hi moms,

I am in need of new carpet in my rooms. I am hoping someone out there has a name/number in the Riverside area that are inexpensive (times are tough :)) and have had a good experience with. Also, this is the first time we change carpets so any tips as far as what I should ask/look for when calling around. I have two kids, 6yr old and 4yr old, so I need kid-friendly carpets since it's their rooms we are re-doing.

Thanks in advance,

A.

What can I do next?

We went to Home Depot for our carpet and were happy with it. There is a large price selection. We also upgraded the padding to the one with the liner on top. This prevents spills from seeping through into the padding and it stays at the carpet level. This way when you clean the spot it does not keep re-appearing.

I have looked around time and time again, and always end up going back to FairPrice Carpets (1070 Center Street. 951*684*8578) in Highgrove (a subarea of Riverside, near Grand Terrace). I just had new carpet installed in my house and Cher was fabulous!! They were on time, courteous, and it looks FABULOUS. And best of all, because I choose and instock item, they were able to do it the next day. They have a great selection of both instock and general order items.

Good Luck! (and go for the newer recycled from plastic bottle materials, they really hold up, release stains easily, and are somewhat better for our environment!)

My cousin used empire carpets, the one with the tv commercials. She had a good experience. She was referred to them from a friend of hers who also liked them.

We used Home deopt-do not go there. they sub contracted to carpet pros, sho sub contaracted to an independant guy who used day laborores.

Look for a carpet that has a high twist rate. It holds up the best. I'd also recommend a dark color. Ours is too light and so dirty in their bedrooms.
