I see you have a bunch of great suggestions already, but the one that came to mind for me was a pottery painting party. I think girls that age would love it. My favorite place is Color Me Mine (www.peoria.colormemine.com), but As You Wish has more locations.

My 12 year old loved bowling this year we had her invite a few friends and they all went cosmic bowling. I just put her and her friends on one lane and then me and hubby and younger siblings on another lane that way they had some privacy to be themselves and as goofy as they wanted and everything but I was still close to watch.

You can take the kids roller/ice skating and then take them to a nice, fancy pizza place or Pizza Hut where they serve you and you can get salads too.

Roller skating parties are a lot of fun. We did that last year for an 11 year old and we had a blast!

What about a trip to the fear farm or some other such halloween celebration, for her and a few friends with lunch...

Hi J.- Maybe taking her and a friend to get pedicures and manicures an then out to eat for lunch (depending on budget). If she is more active, maybe laser tag (Peoria and 35th ave. . . I think). I know they have little stores that will make over your child and take pictures (I think there is one at Arrowhead, but I am not sure of the name). Good luck, I hope you have a great party.

Depends on where you live. If you live in Arizona, I love Park Picnics it is out doors gets them running around and playing, (Yes even at 13). For my daughters sweet sixteen we did a pool party and all the kids said it was the best sixteen birthday party they had been too, we rented a club house at an apartment community. In your home for a girl a sleep over with a spa day. At their age they love make up nails any thing that primps this a coming of own time. Pizza party at the house w/a Oscar night theme, I have lots of ideas that are fun.

Hi J.,
Last year for my daughters bday we had a spa/makeover party for her. We set up stations in our family room and all the girls rotated. We had one for nails/toes painting, makeup and hair. Then we finished it off with a fashion show. The girls had an awesome time!
