Hi M. here. Well this weekend, during "mommy night" , my friends and I where swaping stories and laughing. The subject of nudity came up. we brought how when we where kids, if girls saw a boy naked, the moms would just laugh, but is boys saw a girl naked, all hell broke lose. I had them laughing when i said , when we went to to beach, my mom would have my little bto drop his trunks and wash of the sand..of course girls at the beach would look and he would ham it up. Later i remember swimming at home, my mom would have friends over who had daughters, or my friends and their moms would come over. He always swam naked. We of course would be laughing , the girls wihtout brohers would just stare, i remember moms encouriging the girls to look.
we would get him to jump, and laugh..My moms frind laughed said"girls we know what your doing", wasnt till later i found out the moms worked this out to cure their daugters couriosity. of course i still tease him about how we giggled at his bouncing balls.lol.

Sadly we have become a society that anything related to nudity must have sexual overtones. I can remember running in the sprinkler naked until I was about 8... me AND my twin brother. Kids swam naked at the beach and it was no big deal. That compared to my 7 year old who got in major trouble for being sexually illicit when she pulled shirt off her shoulders at school. I feel sorry for our kids, they aren't allowed to just be free and natural, everything has to be sexual, which is stupid when they aren't even aware of their sexuality yet! Our bodies are wonderful, beautiful things and I am determined to teach my kids that, and to allow them their innocences.

I think this is beyond inappropriate. I have two sons and would be furious if I found out they were involved in something like this. No child should be put in the position of being forced to look at the naked body of another child or be forced to show off their nakedness. I am sure the little boy loved the attention at the time, but a child loves attention no matter what form it comes in. A parent should have stepped up and acted like one - and the fact that you and your friends laugh about it now is appalling to me. Be respectful.

Frankly, this sounds like a good idea to me. At the local preschool here there were incidents of kids pulling other kids pants down and if their curiosity had been dispelled at an earlier age I don't think this would have been a problem. I have only boys (toddler and fetus at the moment) and I am happy to have neighborhood girl toddlers come over for naked time fun in the baby pool -- so my son will (1) feel comfortable with different types of bodies and (2) not be that weird kid in preschool pulling girls' pants down.

It wasn't my mom, it was my older sister with her friends that came over when I swam in my pool. It was all in fun though...no body grew up all weird or anything odd we know about.
