Hello all, after 5 months, I am thinking of switching pediatricians. I would like someone who is more warm and kind that the pediatrician we are currently seeing. I have been on a few sites and done some research of my own and have narrowed down the list to three prospective practices. Can anyone please provide me with any input that you may have on the following pediatricians:

Colts Neck Pediatrics
Rita DelCastillo, little Silver
Seashore Pediatrics, Wall Twp.

We are looking for a Dr. who is very knowledgable, yet empathetic and caring. Anyone have any info. they can share?

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

I take my children to Middletown Pediatrics. I think Dr. Edman is a really good dr.

I would not recommend going to Seashore Pediatrics. They turned me and my son, who is now 2 years old, away. Keep in mind, I live in Toms River. So it was quite a trip up to that office for me. At the time, my son had just been released from the hospital. He was born 12.9.05, and had to be in the NICU for 6 days due to meconium aspiration. He had his stomach pumped 2x and would not feed at all. When he was released, I had to find a pediatrician within 24 hours so that my son could be evaluated. In all honesty, I now go to Brick Pediatrics in Brick, NJ. I would not recommend anyone, but this group. They are excellent doctors...

We switched to Manasquan Pediatrics (Dr. Wolpert) about a year ago. We were at Sea Girt Pediatrics which was good but wait times were almost an hour most visits, and we had to go in for every little thing. Dr. Wolpert will work with me on the phone and in off hours even answers the phone himself. We've always been able to get in for sick visits that same day; even on weekends. He'll call in prescriptions (Campbell's Pharmacy is awesome and they even deliver). He lives close to the office an is always available and very personable. The practice is in an old house on Union Ave, we rarely have to wait long and it is close (we live in Brielle). He didn't mind at all when I interviewed him; he even advertised free interviews in the Coast Star. He was practicing in Brick and has experience and young children of his own. I love his "hometown" practice and highly recommend it!

You can't go wrong with any of them, They are all great women, and very knowledgable. You will have to decide based on where you live, who is closer and the hospitals they go to, in case of an emergency.
