Seeking Pediatrician in Cedar Park Area

I am ALMOST a brand new mom, looking for a pediatrician. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

You guys are AWESOME! Thanks so much for all the responses. I still feel overwhelmed, but less so, now that I have a little direction. Thank you for everything!

Treehouse Pediatrics (right off of 620 between O'Connor and Parmer) is wonderful! We use Dr. Unite but he isn't accepting new patients. Dr. Chang is and he's wonderful as well!! Couldn't be happier with them. Good luck.

I use Dr. Joel Blumberg for both of my kids and my 2 year-old loves him. He is located right next to the new hospital off of 183A His number is ###-###-####, good luck in finding a pediatrician.

M.,

My son was born premature and spent some time in the NICU where a Dr. Zahari (sp) took care of him. She was absolutely wonderful and had referred me to her sister who is a pediatrician and lives somewhere in your neck of the woods. I declined only b/c I live west of Lakeway and it would have been over an hour drive. It might be worth looking into :) good luck.

If you're open to seeing a Family Practice physician, I recommend Dr. Soma Johari at Scott & White Cedar Park Clinic. I saw her before I had my daughter, when she practiced in Round Rock. Now she sees me AND my daughter. I stayed with her when the practice moved, and when I moved from RR to Georgetown. She has 2 young children herself, so she really understands our needs and concerns.

Congratulations and good luck!

I take my son to Cedar Park Pediatrics on 183 and Buttercup Creek. Dr. Cohen is the pedi there. He is absolutely great, as is his staff! They are a small office, he is the only dr. right now, so it has a homey feel to it and you really get to know everyone! You can check him out at babydoctorjoe.com!

I am a mom of 3 (8,6,1) and we go to Austin Regional Clinic at Anderson Mill and see Dr. Nguyen. She is wonderful and we've been going to her for 6 years. She is currently on Maternity Leave but should be coming back mid-June I believe. In the mean time we've been seeing Dr. Boccichio (they call him Dr. B)and he is fantastic too! I love ARC as they have a 'well-baby' waiting area so you don't have to sit right in the midst of all of the sick people when you are there with your newborn for well-checks. They also have an after-hours clinic for those evening/weekend ear infections, etc that come up without having to go to the ER or Urgent Care. Good luck in finding that Dr that you love, and that will love your precious little one too! God bless!

We go to Dr. Brooks Booker at ARC Anderson Mill. He's just great - can't say enough nice things, really puts you at ease and goes the extra mile with the kids. They actually like to go to the doctor! They draw him pictures. He's very funny, a great listener, and will also take extra time to help with insurance claims if there are special needs.

We use Trevor Turner at Brushy Creek Family Physicians. He is wonderful. He is off 620 close to RR hospital but not a long drive from where you live! Kelly Thorstad is his wife and she is good also-I think she is with Lone Star Pediatrics? I live in your subdivision!

If you don't mind driving a bit the ADC Clinic on Far West is the best. We have been with Dr.Craven forever but have seen other Dr.s there when he was not there. Dr. Albert (a woman) is awesome! My kids love her and will will probably change to her when Dr. Craven retires in December. Everybody loves Dr. Gurrero there too. There are 12 or more docters there and if your doctor is not there the day you need him they will always get you in to someone else. We have loved everyone we have seen. It does not take that long to get there if you just go up 183 and exit MOPAC and then Far West. It is right off of MoPAc on Far West. They all usually have hopital privlidges too so they will be there at the birth. Call me if you need more info M..
