Mom Seeking a Female Gynecologist in the Edmond Area for My Teenage Daughter.

I am looking for a female gynecologist for my 15 yr.old daughter. We live in Edmond, and for her first annual check up she thinks she would feel more comfortable with a female doctor. The first visit can often be stressful, so we think a female would be a good choice for her.
Any suggestions?

I use and LOVE Dr. Margaret Hall at Lakeside Womens on Hefner and Hefner Parkway. She is wonderful as is the other doc in her office, Dr. Andrea Doeden. Their number is ###-###-####. Good luck!

Unless she is having problems with her cycle or other gyno. problems, I think 15 is too early too see an gyno. 20-22 is more like it, again only if there are problems or at any time she wants or needs to start on birth control. A reliable/recommended GP is more what a child still needs at that point if she is only needing regular check-ups. We have a daughter also and this is the schedule I'll use. I did start on birth control and have been seeing gyno. since I was 17. I know too young, but I graduated from high school at that age and became involved with my older boyfriend who I married. We didn't want a baby too young and now have been married 20 years. I just didn't want to discourage anyone from getting birth control too early if sexual activity is involved. Otherwise - for medical attention only, use a General Practioner.

Dr. Andrea Doeden at Lakeside would be my recommendation. She is sensitive to the needs of teenage girls and has participated for several years in "Its a Girl Thing." Which is an annual seminar for girls and theur moms.

I would recommend Dr. Karen Wilks through Mercy. She is absolutely wonderful. The first time I met her she had me wait to get undressed until after we had talked about what was going on. She is very gentle and kind. I have always had quick responses and her nurse is wonderful. She delivered my first baby and we had an awesome experience. Love her!
