Missing Teeth - Umatilla,OR
This isn't an urgent question, just curious of others experiences. My 11 mo. old daugther (our second child) still has yet to sprout even one tooth. She hasn't even shown any signs...no drooling, no massive chewing, no fevers and she's not a cranky kid. The Dr. says it's not abnormal and they will come when they want to, but I am curious how many others out there have experienced this and how long it really took for your babies to get their teeth. She eats very well and having only gums hasn't seemed to stop her much at all so I'm not worried about her, just perplexed since my son had nearly a full head of them by this age.

My son, who is my first, starting getting teeth at 6 mos. But both of my daughters didn't get any until they were 13 months old. My youngest is 2 1/2 and if finally just starting to get her "fang" teeth in. Sorry, I can't remember the correct name. :)

I didn't get my first tooth until I was 13 months old. The denist told my mom that this was a good thing...late teethers usually have fewer cavities than early teethers. True to form, I've had very few cavities so far in my 39 years. The downside? I was still losing my baby teeth in college!

My kids got their teeth late. My sister-in-law warned me ahead of time that it's a family thing. My oldest had her first tooth break through the gum on her first birthday. My youngest is almost 14 y.o. and has not lost all of his baby teeth yet. So your daughter's permanent teeth may come in late, too.

My daughter is also 11 months old and doesn't have any teeth either. I've heard it's not that uncommon and definitely nothing to worry about.

My best friend's baby just got his first two in Jan at a year old.
I have heard the earlier the onset of teeth the earloer the onset of puberty, but I think thats an old wives tale. But if it does coem true then you're one of the lucky ones. Both my girls were 12 and they got teeth at 4 months.

You are not alone. Both of my children were late to get teeth in. One was walking before her first tooth broke through. My first child didn't have a tooth until almost 11 months & the second one was 11 1/2 months. After the first tooth broke, the rest of the teeth seemed to come in pretty quickly. One of my girls had two teeth erupt within hours of each other. I am hoping the old adage about children who teeth late having stronger teeth through life is true. So far, it has been. My oldest is 5 and there are no signs of any of her teeth loosening up just yet either.

My daughter got her first tooth at 11 months. She's now 2 and has just one more of her first teeth to go. She has never been droolly, chewed or had fevers. It's usually a complete surprise when I see that a new tooth has come in, since she never seems to notice herself.
I wouldn't worry. They will come eventually. I considered it a huge blessing since I breast fed her until 13 months. :)

My first baby didn't even start to show signs of teething until 1 year old. She managed to eat everything without them anyway.
My son began teething much earlier.
You'll go through the joys of teething soon enough!
I'm sure she's fine!

One of my nieces sprouted he first teeth after her first birthday. She is now 10 and in the process of growing in her front adult teeth.
The only thing they did, was make sure at some point (I think around age 8) that she had adult teeth under her baby teeth. Other than that it's just wait and see - nothing that can be done about it anyways...

My first got teeth at 9 months, the second at 12 months and the third got teeth at 11 months. The second child is now close to 7 and her bottom teeth are just wiggley. They are just late teethers I guess. :)
