Hello all! My oldest is turning 7 in May, and we are seriosly interested in booking Mainstay for a Birthday. We moved here in February and don't really know anything about it. They won't let me come and take a tour or look around and meet them. Is it worth the money? It's $215 for 50 guests, but they don't supply any paper products, or anything else. There is only 15 minutes alloted for "Table-Time.' So, the dessert will be easy, he wants Donuts and Popcicles. He doesn't like cake or ice cream!?? And, I guess, Capri Suns. So, we won't need to buy forks, plates and cups, just LOTS of napkins and wet wipes :~O Thanks for any info!! S.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We had too many people with completely different experiences, so we decided to stick with what we know- Bouncin Bonanza and Donuts, not cake!!!

We have been to Mainstay Farms many times and the this past Halloween will be our last. There are a few activties, but the kids were all ready to go after about 45 minutes. It is a complete waste of money - I am not sure that there is enough there to entertain the kids for that length of time. I do NOT think it is worth $215 - we just had mysons birthday at Bouncin Bonanza last weekend and everyone had a blast! They provide all paper products and you don't have to worry about the weather - this time of year in Texas you never know what the weather will bring. I learned my lesson several years ago when we planned an outdoor party with 50 guests and it POURED ALL DAY LONG! We have also done Pump It Up - they are more expensive that Bouncin Bonanza and they are a much longer drive. There are other fun places to do parties here locally, but I would personally rethink Mainstay...it says something when they won't let you see the facility first...

DON'T DO IT! I took a bunch of kindergarteners for a field trip there in Oct for the pumpkins. The staff was rude. We had down time,(alot) so the kids were playing a game against the side of one of the barns and 2 of the kids ended up covered in fire ants. The staff said it was there fault because they were in an area were they shouldn't have been. For heavens sake it was by the fire for the marsh mellows no signs that said don't play here, nobody told us anything about not going there. Not much to do. The maze is just a path with rope not very hard even for kids. The cool thing the kids liked was one of the slides. The other half of my kids didn't get to do the tree house and the slide because the staff wasted most of our time by just having us sit around. I would say find a different place.

We took my nieces there at Halloween. The "playhouse" was a ancient treehouse that had a huge wasp nest inside and nails sticking out!
Do not do it! The rope maze was the silliest thing I have ever seen.

We have been to Mainstay Farms a couple of times and we enjoyed it. I don't think the $215 is terribly high for a group of 50 people. The treehouse is fun and my 4 year old daughter, her friend and our 7 year old nephew LOVED the slide. It is a different kind of fun than Chuck E. Cheese, but if the weather is nice, it might be fun.

I don't know anything about Mainstay in Cleburne but if things don't work out there, my daughter and I own Bouncin Bonanza in Crowley. We are in indoor facility with 13 bounce houses. We do supply paper products with every party along with soft drinks with our basic party. We also offer pizza options. You can check us out at www.bouncinbonanza.net or you can call us at ###-###-####. Even if you don't have a party with us, we are open during the week and after 6 on Sat. for open bounce.
Let us know if we can be of any help to you.

My kids love Mainstay Farms, we go every year around Halloween. They are 4 and 6 years old. They could spend hours at the tree house if we would let them. The maze by the tree house is fun, the small rope one is a little boring though. The hay ride is a blast, very intertaining. They talk about Neeeed the hobo all year long, they even named a rabbit Neeeed. We have always enjoyed our time there.
I bet the workers can get frustrated easily in Oct. during field trips and family days because theres just so many people. I bet during a birthday party they would'nt be like that. I have alot of respect for the owners and we have had nothing but great times there.
