Hi Mamas!
My son is having his 6th bithday in mid-November. I really want to rent a a Bounce House. My question is, Will it be too cold? I know that winter in Texas is generally warmer than most places, but I am not from here so I am not sure if parents would be okay with this idea. If your child were invited to a party with an outdoor bounce house in mid November would you take them? (also considering all the sickness going around at this time of year)

Thanks

November is the best time for a jump house! The jump house is actually stays warm inside especially with all the jumping. As for the sickness I would hope a parent with a sick child would not bring their kid to a birthday party!

We always get a bounce house for Thanksgiving. We usually rent from a place out ennis. We have my 2 kids ages 11 and 12 and my cousins 2 kids ages 3 and 11. We always have fun no matter how cold. If it is supposed to rain than we won't but have been very fortunate the last 4 - 5 years and have had it every year. We won't have one this year because we will all be at the cowboys game.

We know two other kids who share a mid-November birthday around the same time as my son. Both of those families are renting bounce houses. They just suggested in their invites to bring jackets just in case. We talked about it for our party as well and only decided against, not because of the weather, but because we weren't sure we could get the bounce house far enough away from our pool.

My bounce house business is most busy during Oct and Nov. The kids are exercising hard and makes the cool weather more comfortable for them than the Texas summers:). As far as germs go...if the company you choose is worth the money, they should be cleaning between rentals to keep down the germs. Being outside should help keep down the spread of germs anyway since they're not in each others faces, and coughing on each others toys.

Absolutely! It's the people who get them in July and August in 100 degree weather that freak me out... Those things get REALLY hot. November should be perfect! :)

The kids get hot bouncing anyway, they won't care - but the bounce house buildings are lots of fun too. Try Going Apes in Burleson or Bouncing Bonanza in Crowley. They are really fun, tons of different bounce houses (they even have a special area just for toddlers), and they workers help serve at the party so you can focus on your child's birthday. . . Good Luck!

Just depends on that day!! haha! But, I was super worried about that last year, we had one outside in mid to late December, and it was a blast. A tiny bit chilly (we really lucked out on the weather) but they were having so fun and dressed apropriately and were still sweating!! So go for it!

The only thing that would keep my kids from participating in a bounce house at any time is rain, sleet, or snow :) Another option with the same theme so to speak would be Pump It Up - then you wouldn't have to worry about the weather. And you don't have to worry about the clean up.

I agree with your other responses... go for it! I know this week is going to be beautiful and hopefully the next few will have some great days as well. As far as kids being sick/getting sick, they're all going to be together no matter what you do! Have some hand gel stations set up and extra sweatshirts and jackets out for those who forget one! You can always serve hot chocolate too if it's really cold! Have fun!

Definitely! My neighbors had a bounce house yesterday for their daughter's birthday. My family is also a transplant from a colder region. November weather here is still very pleasant, generally in the 60's. And hopefully our string of unusuallyy cool, wet weather is finally at an end!

This is Texas and, as you may have noticed last month, all bets can be off when it comes to the weather. We went to a birthday party last Dec or Jan (can't remember) and they rented a bounce house (from J-Jay rentals or something like that -- they were the best value apparently). It was cold outside, but the kids loved it. The adults sort of hovered inside, but we went out from time to time. It was a good time. I think Nov could be ok. chekc with the company to see if they have a rain/bad weather policy. If it's just cold, I think the kids will still use it. If it's storming.... Just plan for some fun things inside and they'll have a great time.

Oh and meant to add... if you use something like evites, you can keep everyone updated about weather or change of plans. Plus you'll save some trees and postage. lol

As long as it isnt rainy, I think you are fine. Mid-Nov isnt too cold and you can always bundle up, plus they will warm up on the bounce house. I would just maybe have a back-up plan for bad weather and shift some activities inside (like cake and presents) to keep guests warm if needed.

That is the PERFECT time for a bounce house! As someone else said, it is the ones that get one in July that scare me! The kids get so worked up and hot and sweaty in those bounce houses, they will probably be hot in the bounce house even if it is 50 degrees outside. The only caution that I would make is to you! Be sure that you are willing to stand out there in the cold to supervise! You absolutely have to be right there to supervise, those things can be dangerous without supervision. You will get cold, so as long as you don't mind and can reassure parents that you will be standing out there in the cold to watch, I say GO FOR IT! And about the sickness going around. The people who are freaked out about the sicknesses would not go to your party even if you didn't have a bounce house! Don't worry about any of it, have fun!

Yes! You're pretty safe on the bounce house unless it's sleeting :-). We rent one every year for New Year's Eve and the kids actually get pretty warm from jumping and even shed their jackets. If you haven't decided where to rent from I highly recommend Jumping J Jays. They have one witha big mouth that opens inside and "eats" the kids (there's a slide on the other side). Way cool.

November us kind of iffy for bounce houses because it can be cold .You could get lucky and get a nice day but it's always a good idea to have a backup plan. All I know is that is a month that I get alot of customers that call last minute to get me to entertain the kids at a party because the weather was too cold for the outdoor plans of bounce houses or trains or petting zoos .I do great face painting ,balloon animals and a cute magic show with live animals the kids can pet.Let me know if I can help you ,Razzle Dazzle the Clown razzledazzletheclown.com
