Looking for Guitar Lessons

Hi Moms,
I am looking for guitar lessons for my 10 year old step-son. I have called one place & it was $50.00 for a private lesson - the teacher came to our house. I do want private lessons, but feel taht is Waaaay too much money, as does my husband. We don't mind driving for the lesson. Our son has no experience (except Guitar Hero!!! Which doesn't really count).
$50/per hour - not $10!!!!
Does anyone have other suggestions?
TIA!!
Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

sounds like a very good price

Did you mean to type $10 or $100? How long is the lesson for?

Can't imagine it being less than $10 - especially if he/she comes to your house. Wouldn't be worth his or her time/gas for less. Maybe a group lesson would be less per session??

Autry Music Institue has lessons for between $20 and $30 a lesson, and the initial lesson is free to try it out. They are located in Coconut Creek, on the NE corner of 441 and Coconut creek parkway, 1324 N. SR 7. The web site is autrymusic.com if you want to check them out.

If that is too far to drive, I had a guy come to my house to teach me guitar. His name is Fritz, and at that time (years ago) he charged $25 a lesson. He's probably in the $30-$35 range by now because of gas prices. His number is ###-###-####.

Good luck!
