We live in the lower greenville/lakewood area. Willing to go downtown uptown, lake highlands etc. Can anyone recommend affordable guitar lessons for my 13 year old daughter, private or group?

Thanks, Mamas!

Try the school of rock at http://www.schoolofrock.com/dallas/main_school.php
My kids are taking lessons there and love it! It's a great community and they have seasonal concerts. I have program discount information.
If you prefer private lessons, contact me.

I've heard good things about Gray's School of Music at Preston and Forest. My daughter sings and I got a recommendation to try there from another mom at school whose daughter is taking guitar lessons...they also have flute and piano as well. Good luck! I'm getting my 12 yo singer a 3/4 size guitar for xmas but i don't know that we'll go for lessons for now. i think i'll see how she does teaching herself with videos and books first. I'd still like to get her voice lessons to start though. I jsut couldn't fit the lessons into our day.

I am unsure of WHERE Greenville/Lakewood is, but I do give beginning guitar lessons in the Mesquite 75149 area. I charge $50/month for a half hour lesson per week, which is what I'd recommend for a beginner. Little fingers (or any beginner's fingers, really) are not ready to try to play on strings that will cause callouses for longer than a half hour!
You can also do a search online through yahoo local where you just enter guitar lessons, and it might come up with some in your area.

We use magicmusic.com and they come to our house. I find it to be very affordable. They will also let you do a trial lesson to make sure you like the teacher.

The absolute best person to give guitar lessons is David Moody. He is also the owner of Spellbound Productions and teaches at Norris Music in Mesquite. They are located at Kearney & Galloway not far off of LBJ/Gross.

Sorry I don't have the phone number for Norris-just David's home phone and don't want to publish that on here.

We live in the LG area (I'll admit my son is only 18 months, so we're nowhere near guitar) and we did a music class at Dallas Music in Snider Plaza (between Mockingbird and Lovers on Hillcrest) and they do guitar lessons. Check with them! Contact is Greg Ray at ###-###-#### and it goes for ages 5 and up.
