My fiance and I are starting to plan our wedding and looking for some ideas of where to have it. The wedding will be at the end of March next year and we are open to both indoor and outdoor locations just want somewhere that is gonna be really pretty and make for great photos of the special day. I know yall will come up with some great ideas for us we are not to overly concerned about the cost although would obviously like to put more money towards other things than a location.

What can I do next?

We've been members of Gleneagles Country Club for years.

Although it is a private club, they do host weddings and receptions. The property is beautiful and food is great. First class service.

We have had several parties there for our daughter over the years.

Arboretum is beautiful, especially for March.

The Omni Mandalay (Irving/Las Colinas) is very nice. We've been there for weddings, business conferences, and "Girls Weekend", and enjoyed it every time. There are lots of photo ops on the property, too.

The nice thing about having a reception at a hotel is that your guests can choose to get a room if they're from out of town or have a drive (especially nice if they drink at the reception). Hotels usually give discounts to your guests as well.

Good luck! and Congratulations!

I got married at the beginning of March three years ago and we had our reception at White Rock Lake (in a building that burned down later that year). There's a place there called Winfrey Point that's very pretty and relatively inexpensive to rent out. Depending on the size of the wedding, you could possibly have both the wedding and reception there, or just the reception. You can bring your own caterer, decorations, etc. which might save money as well. There's also a dance floor and big fireplace - hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, view of the lake, etc. Very pretty location. But, if you're having more than 250 or so, I'd say to find a larger builiding. Good luck and have fun planning!! Although we aren't from Garland, my husband and I were married at The Alexander Mansion. They were great, and it was perfect because it turned out that they did most everything for us there.

Also, my mother-in-law does wedding cakes so if you need a wedding cake, delicious cake at that lol...

There is a mansion on Swiss Avenue in Dallas that hosts events and the name escapes me. I'm sure you could Google it.

Also, downtown Dallas - the Belo Mansion is very nice, I've been there several times for weddings.

Dallas Arboretum, but you'll need to reserve early.
