How Many Undies Do You or Your Kids Go Through a Day?

My husband teases me and the kids b/c we change undies in the morning and the evening. He laughs when I do laundry and he sees the piles of undies and jokes that he doesn't know anyone who goes through this many undies. Are we the weird ones and change too often? Ha ha

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I change after my shower. If I need to shower, I need to change undies. So if it's a one shower day, I change them once. Two showers...twice. Etc.

One new pair in the morning, then a new pair after I shower...

The kids? I think the same as me! I don't track their undies, I just shut up and do the laundry ;)

We put on clean underwear after a shower - once a day.
My sister use to throw entire outfits into the laundry if she even tried it on once and took it off again.
She wore out more clothes by washing them over and over again than she ever did by actually wearing them.
It's kind of a waste of laundry soap, water, electricity and wear and tear on the clothes to be cleaning things that are not even dirty.

I have one daughter in law who changes her daughter's panties each morning and night. The other probably not so often. I always had my kids put on new undies once a day. Clean ones after a bath, of course, and if they didn't have a bath the night before, change them in the morning when getting dressed. I change mine once a day so that is how I taught my kids. Boys grow up and seems that they don't change theirs as often as girls though..lol, socks either.. ewww. I think that is why boys are much more stinky when they get around 10 - 14 then girls are.

I change once a day and so do the kids that are out of diapers. We put on fresh ones after our baths/showers and unless they are soiled, we don't change again. DH might go through more after a workout, though.

My little guy went to school commando. How did I find THIS out? He got sick at lunch and needed a clothing change. They had his clothes in a bag for me and mentioned he didn't have any underwear on. I laughed so hard. Guess we have to do an undie check before school. Shady little guy! :)

After he was first potty trained he changed three to four times a day. Just to put on a new pair of McQueen, SpongeBob or Mickey Mouse on.

One or two depending on the day and if I end up showering twice or taking a hot soak in the tub in the evening. My kids usually two...we start fresh in the morning and then after bath time.

I wash a lot of undies...lol

I change underwear 2 or 3 times a day, especially when it was 100+ degrees outside. I can't stand being sweaty, and I wouldn't put a dirty pair back on after getting clean in the shower.
For my son, I remind him to put on clean underwear after his bath at bedtime. Or if he skipped his bath, then when he gets dressed in the morning. We also have to check every time we go out somewhere that he's actually wearing underwear. He sings "under wear, flunder flair, no where for underwear."

Generally 1 pair of clean undies a day - sometimes 2, if the first pair gets dirty or she gets a bath at night and gets a fresh clean pair then too.

I had a friend in college who had to have a fresh clean towel for every shower - that usually ended up being 7 towels a week that then had to get laundered (more if she happened to shower twice in one day).

I think most people put on clean clothes after bathing then wear those undergarments until the dress for bed. If there is yuk in them then they put on clean undies but otherwise they just keep the daytime pair on to sleep in or go commando inside the jammies.

I don't understand. Are they getting dirty, or do they simply have a shelf life of only a few hours? Are you bathing every time? I don't see the benefit of changing underpants if the actual body won't be fresh, as well.

The answers made me smile.

I change at every shower and so does my wife.

We use a bath towel for a week and then it goes into the laundry which is done once per week. I have some kids that have a new towel for every shower, but then they don't hang it up so it can dry. They leave them on the floor and walk on them so their towels have foot traffic on them. Its one of those things my wife and I tried to teach them, but failed.

Good luck to you and yours.

Usually only one per day. Hubby, daughter and I have about two weeks worth of undies. Reason to change; accident, did not wipe well, super hot/sweaty, played in a sport/game or spilled something on pants and undies got wet too.

I think it depends on the ages of the kids. My son is only 3 and doesn't wear underwear at night (I am a fan of airing things out). So I let him go 2 days sometimes 3 with the same pair. They are never soiled or smelly. But if he has older I would say a clean pair everyday. 2 pairs of underwear a day when they are not soilded seems excessive at any age.

My kids do that too.
It irks my husband. But so what. It is not a big deal.
My daughter has been known to change more often than that.
But she has PLENTY of underwear anyway.

Me, I change when I take a shower, anytime.

Honestly, i very rarely wear underwear. I don't see the point. My 2 sisters don't either, and it gives our mother heart palpatations (almost as bad as when we don't have pantyhose on with a skirt too!). My husband changes his after showering and my son after he bathes at night.

1 a day works for me and my oldest. My youngest is still in diapers. My husband goes through socks like they were going out of style but 1 pair of boxers a day do for him as well.
