EKG T Wave Changes: Ever Had This Result?

Just got a call from my doctor and she wants to see me today at 3:30pm to follow up on my EKG results. According to the doctor that called me, there are some T Wave unspecific changes in my EKG. I've been reading up on it. Has anyone ever had this result before?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I met with my doctor yesterday and they repeated the test. Turns out, the initial test was done wrong. The tech had me leave my underwire bra on and put the electrodes under the bra. She also talked to me (and I talked back) the entire time. SO, needless to say, the test results were WRONG the first time around.

I had the EKG repeated and it was normal. YAY!

ETA: Thanks for your PM that there was a human error in the test itself! Glad it's resolved!

Original answer: There can be all kinds of reasons. My doctor scared the bejeezus out of me and thought I had had a "silent heart attack" - I got sent to a cardiologist and she repeated the test plus a stress test, and said the original problem was the result of a faulty lead on the original EKG. So it's really good not to panic about anything!

Try not to use Dr. Google too much - it can throw you off and make you worry for nothing. If there's anything questionable, my advice is to get a 2nd opinion and a 2nd test on another piece of equipment with a different doctor reading it.

Good luck!

I had a dr appt years ago who sent me to the hospital via ambulance because of an abnormal ekg. I felt fine but my BP was a bit high (higher since they freaked out). I had all the tests, another ekg, and a follow up echocardiogram, and the only thing they found was inverted t waves, which the cardiologist said was just specific to my body. I'm interested in what your dr tells you after your appointment, but for me, there was no diagnosis or anything strange. Good luck!

Good luck. Try not to worry about it. They are just making sure you are ok. Anxiety will make it worse.

My daughter is scheduled for surgery for SVT on 7/7 which is a sudden onset rapid heartbeat. The surgery will enable her to get off the RX that controls it which is a good thing!

Best of luck! How are you feeling? Hopefully, if you are not having any symptoms this will be something they can control easily. My girlfriend was hospitalized for v-tach rhythms which are very dangerous but she was not feeling well at all. (She also has an implanted pacemaker/defibulator).
