Hi Ladies,
I am pregnant with my 3rd baby which will result in a repeat c-section, which I will be getting my tubes tied then. YES, I am 199% sure I am done having kids, I will never regret it, I promise. Now, my question, I talked to my doctor and he basically said I will have no side effects of any sort. No weight gain, hormonal, or emotional changes at all. Have any of you ever had any effects you could directly blame on having your tubes tied??

What can I do next?

I did. I had my tubes tied and I had a severe hormone imbalance that started right after the surgery and ended right after I reversed it. My cycles were more painful and lasted for 8 days. My cramps would last for 3 days. But the thing that made me reverse it was that I felt like I was having a nervous break down two weeks out of every month. It was like PMS on steroids!! I couldn't live like this! It never got better but seemed to get worse each month. After 3 years of hell, I reversed it and the symptoms cleared up right away. I also had 3 more children after the reversal and they are a total blessing to me. I can't imagine life with out them. I have high risk pregnancies so that was the reason I tied my tubes but after my tubal I kept thinking that I'd rather have 100 more pregnancies than to put up with my symptoms for one more month. I know I sound like a drama queen but I feel a panic attack coming just remembering how I felt having my tubes tied. Whew! LOL Good luck!!

despite what everyone says, a small weight gain and a worsening of menstrual cramps is pretty normal after having your tubes tied. However, most women have been on birth control for awhile before getting their tubed tied, so there is no way to really tell if it is a result of getting off the birth control, or a result of getting the tubed tied.

Had mine tied almost 40 years ago, with no side effects at all. Also no regrets. I hope your results are as great!

The only effect was that it made it more then final that my baby days were over. I had that done when my 7 yr old was 6 mos old and it still bothers me sometimes. Its just something that bothers me from time to time. Never any physical effects or anything.

I had a period of hot flashes, but everything was normal. I am very happy I decided to get my tubes tied. After having two children the last two years - and turning 40 this November, it was time. And from what I have heard, if you ever do change your mind - there is always in vitro!

The effects I can directly 'blame' for my tubes being tied? Better sex. Everything else has remained the exact same. GL!!

I absolutely had no issues easiest thing I've ever done. I had it 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I was up and around the next day and 12 years later I can say I've still had no issues...Best of luck to you!
