We're in the market for a new dishwasher...does anyone love their dishwasher? We don't need top of the line but don't want a piece of junk either. I would just like one that will actually clean my dishes and one that isn't so dang loud! Thanks for any input positive or negative.

What can I do next?

I am currently on my 3rd and FAVORITE dishwasher since we built our house in 2000.

The builder used GE Profile and I hated that thing. LOUD and did not clean well.

About 3 yrs later, we got a new top of the line Maytag. At first I loved it then it quit cleaning.

Last year we went to Best Buy and bought a top of the line Kitchen Aid and it is the best by far that I have ever had. I don't have to prewash, it is quiet, I LOVE it.

I love this Kitchen Aid so much.....3 months after I got it, I ripped out the Maytag fridge and replaced it with a Kitchen Aid. I LOVE them.

The appliance repair person that we use told us to buy Whirlpool or Whirlpool Gold. Get a Level 3 or 4. We found it at Lowe's but Best Buy carries them also. Get the best deal, each store will match and 10%, at least Lowe's did.

We bought a GE Profile from Best Buy.
You pour your detergent into a place in the dishwasher and it uses the amount you need at the time and you don't put anymore in until a red light comes on telling you to.
It is very quiet and has a lot of things to choose from like pots and pans, china, etc. We bought the one on display and got a lot of $ off.

A couple of months ago, we had to replace our GE Profile dishwasher. We bought a Kitchen Aid dishwasher and i absolutely love it. I'm able to get more dishes in it.

We moved 2 years ago and i never paid much attention to the dishwasher as long as it worked. But i found that even though the new house dishwasher cleans just fine it does not have the space like my old one. I loved how deep the bottom area was. I could get a large cookie sheet in with no problems. My new one only has a tricky spot that is a major pain. Also, my other house dishwasher had hinge like things on the top rack. I could put them up or down to make the top rack an open area or flip up to make the rows that you are use to. Sorry i dont know the brand of the old one but i do know i will bring a large pan with me the next time i shop and look at the pro/con on each a little more closely.

I've owned dishwashers since 1970, just about every brand. I would not buy anything but a Kitchen Aid. They clean, they are quiet, and out last GEs, Maytags almost 3 times! We sold our home about 4 years ago, leaving an almost new Kitchen Aid after the 20-year-old KA finally died. The home we live in now has a Maytag and I hate it! It's noisy, actually groans in one cycle, and doesn't hold near as many dishes as my KA did. Oh, and it's almost new, replaced by the former owner just before selling to us. I don't feel I can afford to throw it away, so I am using it, but I hate it. KAs are worth the extra money!
