Does anyone know of someone who cuts children's hair? I don't know if my son would do well at a regular salon and I can't seem to find anything on my own. I live in Houston but I would be willing to travel alittle.
Any help is appreciated.
Kids Kuts in Houston is where I take my kids and they have movies and animals to sit on, etc. It's located in the Rice Village.
There is also a new place on highway 6 and 59 south. It is called Snipits--it is in the same shopping center as the Whole Foods. They do a great job--and to be honest, I do not know where they "moved" the Cool Cuts 4 Kids--as I know it is not in the same location as a few months ago (same shopping center as 1/2 Price Books in Sugar Land on highway 6).

I took my daughter (2yrs) for her first official haircut to see Miss Stacy @ The Merry Thought. She has her own little space in the corner of the store, with an airplane seat, and plenty of childrens video. It was an excellent experience. I plan on taking my son (10 months) when it's time for his first haircut. (PS. We go to Kid's Kuts in the village (by Bike Barn) - we've had great experiences there.
There's a place on Jones and Grant called Playhouse Cuts that is pretty good. The kids can sit in a regular chair or a plane or car chair and watch a movie while they get their hair cut. There's a little play area so any siblings can play while waiting. The haircuts are about $13.

There is or was a Cool Cuts for Kids in Sugar Land on Hwy 6 and williams Trace. they are very kid friendly!
Any barber will cut a young childs hair. You can go to any small salon that is not crowded and he should do okay. I took my son to a TGF hair salon, when there were just a couple of people in there, and let him see that it didn't hurt to get his cut. I hope this helps.
On Hwy 6 S. in Sugar Land, there is a place called COOL CUTS for KIDS. They have DVD/TV's in front of almost every chair and a little area with toys, while they wait. They take walk-ins and are pretty inexpensive. Not sure, but it could be a chain. There's probably one near you.
There is a new spot on 59 @ Highway 6, just for kids. It is right by the Whole Foods Mkt.
My son goes to snip its and cool cuts for kids in Sugar Land...both are off Highway 6 not far from Hwy 59. Great atmosphere where your child can play computer games or watch videos while getting his/her hair cut. Maybe they have some of these type places in Houston.
You might want to try little lords and ladies on westheimer. They have a childrens salon in the back.
Not sure what side of town you are on, but Cool Cuts for Kids is inside a lot of the newer Toys R Us stores. You might call one located near you and see if they have a Cool Cuts inside.
This place was recommended to me for my kids by several mothers. They have a video playing, lollipops, and car barberseats for the kids.
I believe they only do children's haircuts. Maria cuts my kid's hair and has done a great job. Little Lords & Ladies ###-###-####. It is off of Westheimer and Greenbriar areaish...conveniently there is a ToysRUs across the street.

Check Salons in the Park website http://www.salonpark.com/locations. There are 5 locations in Houston. Click on the "Service Directory" for the one you want, then on "Cut and Style (kid friendy)". That will give you a list of tenants that do kids cuts as well as little bios on each person... If you've never been to one, they're great and personal - instead of a big busy salon, there are individual "cubicles". I've been to the Northbrook and Willowbrook, both are nice places!
I take my son to Cool Cuts 4 kids. the have movies and video games that keep the children entertained while they get their hair cut, they also have fun seats for toddlers to sit in (firetrucks and racecars). the one that I visit is the one in Sugar Land off of highway 6 and Settlers Way.

I used Little Lords and Ladies on Westheimer. It's not far from the Fountain View intersection. It's in a shopping center with Dimensions and the Palm restaurant. The front of the store is full of clothes for the little ones. The back is set up for haircuts. What is cute about this place is the children sit in cars with wheels while their hair is cut. They get a lollipop, and can watch kid shows. The stylist is friendly and quite used to first timers and little ones. It cost about 19.00 bucks.
She did a great job on my son's hair(he's 3) and he didn't want to leave.

cool cuts for kids are great - lots of child friendlky stuff - video games, lego, thomas, cars to sit in while your hair is cut, that sort of thing - my kids were very happy! Look thewm up online they are all over!
