okay, I want to call them "water bugs" but we all know that we just big ole roaches! I have recently rented a Mobile home and this heat is bringing them in! there is no room in my place for these nasty things - anybody got any suggestions for how to keep them out? I promise, I keep a clean house, the garbage gets taken out alot and the florrs get mopped after we eat. I have a 2.5 year old and the thought of bugs drives me nuts so I am constantly cleaning but since it has been so hot - even the bugs are looking for a cooling station!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the advise moms! I did bomb yesterday and then when i got home, I changed the air filters, cleaned everything touchabel and mopped the floors. I laso rearranged the furniture and cleaned under but I ended up putting it all back because the fen shui just wasn't there but it gave me an opportunity to clean everything! One more golden thing I did- I don't know if any of you ever lived in a MH but the vent registers are located on the floor. I had a feeling that was a way for the buggers to crawl in from the under area of the trailer so I bought some screen and secured it to all the vents - the air still flows but no bugs can get in! I feel much better:)

borax with a little sugar mixed in. are they german roaches or palmetto bugs? should work with either one. also they sell at walmart a white bottle with a red cap (don't know the name) but my mom used this when my brother and cousins were living in our house and when we moved back in it was disgusting. good luck

( I think MH = Motor Home?)
I have no suggestions seeing as we don't seem to have a lot of nasty bugs up here in WA. I will have to let all the Texan's answer that for you! LOL

We get them also. It's the drought and they are looking for water. But yes - they are nasty ! I haven't figured out how to keep them out either.

I made "roach candy" when we lived in our last house. There were lots of pine trees, therefore lots of roaches. You can google it. I just mixed boric acid, flour, sugar, and shortening and formed it into balls. I put the balls behind furniture and in the garage. Be really careful though if you have kids or pets. Also don't clean with anything pine-scented. This really worked for us.

What's an MH?

Have you done the bug foggers?
You'll probably have to do them every month or so.

Boric acid and powdered sugar mix...dust around the outside of your home...make sure the kids or pets don't get into it.

Or diatamasious (spelling) earth...it is completely organic and you can spread it around outside where they are coming in...it will cut them and they will die. It will not hurt people.
