Does she live in an apartment? If so the apartment management should hire a pest control company to treat all the apartments that have roaches and to continue doing so every month.

If she lives in a house, I recommend that she hire a pest control company to treat her property. They know where to find the roaches and where to spray. Roaches are nearly impossible to totally get rid of. To come close, one has to keep all food in closed containers, even garbage, and to not let so much as a crumb stay out.

The pest control company will give her more info. You can also look them up on the Internet.

My daughter lives in an apartment and even when she's roach free a new neighbor will move in and before she knows it she has a couple of roaches. She calls the office and they put her on the list for the pest control company. She usually finds them first under the kitchen sink where she keeps the garbage. It's next to impossible to keep that area spotless.

Call someone to spray! We lived across the street from a park and got big nasty brown American roaches. The roaches were first in the park and then in our garage and over a year made their way in to the house. We tried bug bombs when we went on vacations and over the counter sprays. We finally broke down and called an exterminator. They were gone for an entire year with only one spraying. They are so gross! Just tell her to call someone!

When roaches got overwhelming at our house we would call the city and they would come and treat the sewers on our block. Don't know if they still do this with the great recession, but it's worth a try.

If she has the big sewer roaches, they usually are there because of a water source (like a leak), she needs to find the source and put the poison there, after she fixes it. We had them when our sprinkler valves were leaking, my husband got something from Home Depot, that they take back to the nest. We can't remember the name, but it comes in large syringes and works great.
If you are dealing with the little brown field roaches like they underbrush and damp vegetation. I had them in an apartment I lived in that was next to a field, when the management couldn't get rid of them I used caulk to seal all cracks and put boric acid down.
There is a website you can check called epestsupply.com that offer help too.
Best of luck.

Help her clean out her pantry and seal everything in Ziplocs. You can get really big ones for cereal and oatmeal.
Seal everything. I even seal syrup. If it is opened it goes in a baggie.
Then get a pest control company. MIne cost about $90 for the initial set up to put put sticky gunk in the back of the cabinets, under the sink in the pantry, etc. Then the monthly bill is $25. He sprays the baseboards. I have 4 kids, 3 dogs and 3 cats. No one has ever gotten sick. I live in NC and although the locals call our bugs Palmetto bugs they are cockroaches and seem to walk right in the door.

I use an environmentally friendly pest control service here in Dallas. I'm sure Tucson has one. Google and see!

Mix one part white sugar and one part boric acid (you can get this at the phamacy). Sprinkle at the back of cabinets, under the refrig, anywhere you've seen roaches. My dad did this and they were GONE. Never came back either.

pest company and she can also sprinkle boric acid along the baseboards, especially in the cabinets, and that will help too. I find it in places like Dollar General. I use it when our poor dogs get over run with fleas and decide to bring them in the house. One of the joys of living with woods all around!
