My 8 month old little girl has been crawling since Christmas, but we don't have the friendliest floors (wood) and her knees are just so raw. we tried the knee pads, a joke. So I was wondering if there were any other advice on this? My son didn't have these problems.

Additional information: She is always wearing something on her legs for some type of protection.

What can I do next?

Babylegs! They are darling and will do the trick. We used them, and my son still wears them on spring/fall days that are cold in the morning but warm in the afternoon. I just stick them under his shorts and they work great. Inspired by Finn is the cheapest place to get them, I think, and the are having a huge moving sale right now.

I cut the feet off a couple pairs of socks and up them up over my kiddos knees, plus the pants. We have an entire hours of hard wood and stone. I also used a good moisturizer on their knees after bath. It never seemed to bother then like it bothered me :-)

Maybe rugs on some of the floor would help. At least until she's walking. I love wood floors, but I can see how it would make her knees hurt!

Somebody had an idea just like Sarah's and marketed it! When I started having this issue, a friend bought my baby a few pair of BabyLegs. You can find them at babylegs.com and they started as a legwarmer-type idea that protected baby's legs and has blossomed into sooo much more. I see that now they have some extra-soft and even extra-stretchy ones for chubbier baby's legs, which we really could have used at one point! Keep in mind that ours were a gift, so if these are just too extravagant, Sarah's resourceful method is just as effective and a lot easier on the budget!

Target also sells (or used to) a version of the baby leg warmers. I'm sure you could find them at Walmart as well, if you don't have a Target nearby.

put sweat pants on, even 2 of them and get carpeting for where the baby is.

I used to make and sell something similar to baby legs. Babylegs.com i believe and they are miracles! I believe target also sells a version of them, if you're crafty they are very easy to sew yourself out of a pair of knee socks!

Try putting thick socks (with the feet cut off) over her knees - like mini leg warmers...
