Advise on a Gift for a 10 Year Old
Hi Moms,
I'm going to be visiting some friends that we haven't seen in several years since they live out of state. Their children have really grown since we saw them last. I want to bring a little gift for each of them. They have 5 year old boy - I think I'm all set with that, but what do I get for a 10 year old girl? My kids are 5 and 3 so I don't know what girls that age like. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Another thought, with the warm weather coming, she might appreciate a new swim tube or other pool toy. My 10-year-old also still enjoys doing 100+ piece puzzles on a rainy day or coloring with markers on velvet art. The Dollar Tree even carries these... or a deck of cards and teach her how to play a fun card game you like -- my daughter is really into rummy right now! She might appreciate you spending time with her, telling funny stories about her folks while you play a game of cards : )

I'd suggest tween type jewelry, like at Claire's, maybe nail polish if her parents aren't opposed or if she likes to read the Emily Windsnap series is a lot of fun for that age. Have fun. If none of that works maybe something that represents the state where you live.

Hi J.,
Webkinz or anything American Girl are popular with most girls that age. A Diary is also a great choice and will encourage writing. Books are great, but are dependant on their specific interests. My almost 10 year old is getting more interested in clothes and toiletries.
Best Wishes,

HI
My niece is 11 and anything Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers works! A gift card to Claire's, Icing or any accessory place (they love that stuff!) works. Whatever is in your friends town of course.
Hope this helps.
