we are really fond of the following appetizer-

take proscuito or sopressetta, or salami if you cant get the other meats. put a teaspoon of goat cheese or ricotta and some basil in the center of each slice. fold into a pocket, seal with a toothpick, and toast on the grill. super yummy.

here's an adult dessert-
mojito honeydew. run lime juice, rum and fresh mint through the blender. skewer cubed honey dew. soak skewers in mojito mix. freeze and serve.

makes the fireworks brighter everytime.

There's a red white and blue jello recipe. Sorry I don't have it.

I just got an email from pillsbury.com with a lot of fun recipes ~ specifically red,white and blue desserts.

I'm in charge of the July 1st snack for summer school.

It could be 90 degrees that day and the kids are "parading" around the school in red, white and blue so I'm bringing strawberries, blueberries and Cool Whip to keep the theme going.

Just heard from my sis:

She puts white frosting on the cake, uses blue berries for the stars and strawberries or rasberries for the red stripes. It looks and tastes great!

My sister makes a flag cake I think the stars are blue berries, I'll ask her and send it to you. It's really a nice and easy cake in a ob long pan.
