My Daughters 1St Birthday Party.
I need help with my daughters first birthday party. She will be one on July 2nd but we are having the party on July 4th. Any ideas on what to do for a theme due to the fact it's on the 4th of July. I like the 1st birthday themes but I have found none to incorporate red, white and blue with. Please help, time is running out. Thank You!
So What Happened?™
Hello everybody,
Thanks very much for all your responses. I couldn't believe all the responses I got. It was great to hear what you all had to offer for advice. Thanks again!!
After much thinking and talking to my husband about what he thought as well I ended up decorating the whole front of the house with all kinds of Fourth of July decorations and the inside with red, white, and blue balloons and a little princess birthday theme. It turned out great and I even had some comments on how I decided to use the both. I had my daughter wear her Fourth of July outfit for the first two hours then I changed her into her party dress. Thanks everyone for helping me out.

If you have time you can go to one of the party stores and get some of the napkins or plates personalized with her name on it this way you still keep the red white and blue but it pertains to her. I hope this helps also the ballons too. Good Luck, don't stress and have fun! www.DiscoveryToysLink.com/LIsaRyan LIsaM

I was thinking the same as the last post. Elmo is red, and Cookie Monster is blue. Some July 4th streamers, baloons, etc. would match perfectly.
Don't stress too much. This is about having fun, and enjoying time with family and friends as you celebrate your daughters special first birthday. Have a great birthday!!

I was thinking the same thing with Elmo and Cookie Monster! I'm sure they can do a red, white and blue cake with those characters on it.

You just answered your own question. It's the 4th of July; so make it easy on yourself. If you want, add some stuffed animals for your baby in the mix. There will be plenty at Walmart and Walgreens; maybe even target. ( they are usually blinged out with red, white, and blue on them.
Or, just pick something that she likes and add a little red, white, and blue in the mix.
At 1 yr, my husband and I did a pirate theme as this is what we like and my son's room is nautical/pirate. His birthday is July 10th, and this year we're doing a motorcycle theme. At 1 yr, it really didn't matter and this year it doesn't either but he is a little older.
He likes Elmo too, so I am going to add Elmo to his cake. I did look for Elmo items but didn't find too much when I was out. I could have ordered them online; however, he loves motorcycles too. Maybe he likes them because my hubby has one and he sees them all the time. We are surprising him with this theme as he gets so excited every time he sees them.

Hi, M.. How about "Celebrating the birth of our nation and the birth of our daughter?" She was born into this country, the land of freedom; maybe dress her up as an all-American baby? And then have red, white and blue balloons, table cloths, etc. Truly, there is no strict rule on how to throw a first birthday party. Have fun with it!

How about Sesame Street - but it's a little babyish if you're trying to throw in a July 4th party too... How about a Carnival, or Radio Flyer theme? These two are both pretty unique, and incorporate red and white. GOOD LUCK!

HI M., I totaly get that is't fourth of july....but my thought on It is that it's your dauhters birthday. I would do the whole 1st birthday theme and forget 4th of july for the first part of the party. get the pictures have the memory. the the second part of the day switch it over and go see fieworks. I always go back to my daughters 1st b-day pics and I love them. My advice don't inccorperate this. Wishing you the best and whatever you decide it will be great!!!!

This may sound dumb but you can kinda do Sesame Street.....Cookie Monster is blue and Elmo is red and they both have white in them, you can play with that?
