Is it even possible for a 4 yr. old to develope acne or whiteheads? These dots are only on his face and there are only 3 or 4 so it is not looking like a rash. He is bathed nightly, and doesn't seem to itch.
What could this be?

What can I do next?

my son used to have childhood Asthma and he had small white bumps on his arm. I, too thought it was acne of some sort but our Pediatrician said they were from his Asthma.. who knew.. anyway, not sure your child has as such but IF she has breathing issues, etc.. might be worth a look into..

best of luck

Could be baby acne- Milia- you know when your baby breaks out at 5 weeks old. Sometimes it happens when kid skin heals and is pushing out some dirt or impurities. Does he have a ped. appt. coming up? Or call the office- the receptionist can probably tell you whether to come in if you're really worried, or the doc can sometimes allay your fears over the phone.

My son (22 mos) recently had stitches on his face and when they healed, he also developed some white little bumps like white-heads along the scar. The ped. recommended rubbing them gently with baby shampoo when I washed his face at night. That was 3 weeks ago and they have gradually disappeared.

My daughter and I have a problem with strep throat (we don't get sore throats but have other issues come up instead because of a problem w/our immune systems) and we have noticed that this will happen to us when we have active strep.

It could be that his immune system is trying to fight something and this is just how it is coming out. I don't think it is the same as teenage hormonal acne though, no.

My son has them on his face too, I thought they were whitehead pimples His is called Molluscum. They look like whiteheads but they don't really burst when you apply pressure. Our doc told us they would go away on there own but it takes a while and they shouldn't be touched or messed with because it spreads. It took a year for the larger one under his eye to go away. We were also told to use vasaline to prevent them from spreading. Hope this helps.
