Zithromax for Cough???

hi moms...my 5 month old still is coughing(esp at night), has wheezing, chest congestion(phlegm) but no fever for almost a month now...hes doctor prescribe vent exp, and combivent plus saline solution in his nebulizer but my son is still in the same condition, he told me he's not asthmatic though...my mother told me that zithromax is good according to my niece's other pediatrician..IS IT SAFE TO GIVE TO A 5 MONTH OLD BABY?..Im just sick and tired of going back to the pedia because he cant cure my babys coughing..i badly need anyones advice...
